Yet if you watch the video, the front is totaled but the driver compartment stays pretty sturdy...

sites like that have no idea what theyre talking about. there was nothing dangerous about the f-body. the only reason it was in so many accidents was quoted in the article. it was fast, and people didnt know how to handle it. it was never 'poorly constructed' and certainly held up well in crashes. look at all the stories on tech and even here, when people walked away from a totalled f-body. ill bet anything there are as many, if not more mustang wrecks then f-body.
and if the corvair was so dangerous, why was it and is STILL used in road racing events? all you had to do was keep the rear tire pressure at the recomended level and it was fine. the problem was people never realized there was as much as 15 lbs of differance between the front and rear tires, and kept the same low pressure all around.

ya that article is incredibly stupid. with both the corvair and camaro its the drivers fault for wrecking. also the audi one is pretty funny. i just thought it was a good read

i think they are referring to the fact that the car is fast. it definitely isn't unsafe in a frontal collision. the 4th gen received 4/5 stars
