I need to wire in N20 pressure, fuel pressure, and tranny temp gauges.
On the tranny temp instructions it wants a constant 12v source, and a keyed 12 volt source. I am guessing the constant source is for illumination? (there is a push button on the face of the gauge)
Any thoughts on that? I would rather not hook something up to be always hot.

test it if you aren't sure. i would wire the illumination in with the headlight switch personally and just leave the button switched on. though i know you like pushing buttons and switching switches.

I think they are referring to constant for the gauge and switched for the light. Here is how I did my setup. For the gauges on the pillar, In the fusebox on the side of the dash there are 3 open lugs, one of them only has power when the ign is on and I use that with a inline fuse to power the gauges, ground to the stud just above the hood release (under the kick panel). Switched power I tapped into the headlight switch for the gauge lights on the pillar pod, for the gauges in my console I tapped into the light in the ashtray to power those lights.
I used a braided line and made mounts to secure the FP sending unit down low below the ECM. So it the sender ever springs a leak the gas would not be dripping anywhere near heat. I ran the wires thru the rubber grommet where the stock harness goes.

This is what I did with one exception. I ran my gauge illumination down to a switch in the kick panel and then up to the stock light control. That way I can kill the power to the gauge lighting if I need to at night.
