RTS (grew up on command & conquer and starcraft), FPS, and some RPGs but I don't really see myself playing many more of those anymore

This thread's for game recommendation, not for wagging your e-dicks around trying to be the cool guy with the fastest processor. Contribute or GTFO. Thanks.

Why get such a mediocre computer for so much money? That was probably 1,200-1,500 dollars.

Phenom 2 x2 550 BE - 3.2hgz
4gb DDR3 1600
Radeon 4870 1gb
500gb HDD
other litle stuff

I play supreme commander sometimes, team fortress all the time, and will still load up starcraft every once in a while. all C&C games are a lot of fun. Anyone else on for team fortress 2?

i fail to see how its a mediocre computer when its a laptop and does not ever crash or freeze unlike windows. i would totally agree with this statement if it was a desktop.

ok no more thread hijacking. i contributed so why is it so hard not to?

I said you overpaid for your hardware, not that your OS is more stable than windows. A PC can be had with specs twice as nice, for half the cost, and run linux for the same or greater stability of your mac.

I never retort that apple's OS's are generally more stable than Microsoft's; that doesn't change the fact that you pay a premium of about 2-3x of what you should be for the equivalent PC hardware.

the new flashpoint game is the benchmark military troop fps sim...

call of duty games are alright for arcade action troop action and singleplayer storey...

lock on modern air combat for modern flight combat sim... goin on a few years as champ still... new falcon 4 version called allied forces came out a few ago...

steel beasts pro for bar none tank sim...

halflife 2 and all expansions for fps sci fi... gives you access to counterstrike and days of defeat (swat like sim and ww2 fps respectively both very arcady but fun as ****)...

cant ever go wrong with command and conquer series for tac... starcraft sure...

wow (world of warcraft) is popular but gay none the less haha for mmorpgayness...

eve online... awesome space based industrial/battle rpg game...

crysis series awesome for fps scifi singleplayer...multi's ok...very unique ability/style game...same with farcry 2

lots of console ports in last few years (wow yea... designed programmed on pc... released on consoles then ported back to PC... boy has the world changed in the mass market idiots favor...) ie grand theft auto, assasins creed etc. worth a look or two for drunk bordom filler...

flight sim x and xplane for civilian air sim...

a few new test drive and need for speed arcade race games out... unfortunatly no realistic race sims have been on pc for awhile now...

Try and find a thin pc laptop with that processing power, i dont think it exists. And if it does its in the same price range as a mac.

Yep I been playing Star Wars Galaxies for over 6 years. Its seen me through 8th grade, High School, and almost 2 years of college on and off lol. Also dabbled in just about every MMO made under a semi major name.

I didnt try AoC because I didnt have a very good computer at its release, plus I didnt like the idea of aiming in an MMO. Its too bad what happened with the failed launch. I heard they came in and made the game absolutely awesome now just noone wants to give it a chance.

Either way @ryan thats nuts dude. Its amazing the leaps and bounds **** takes when you dont look at it for 6months.

I'm installing AoC as I type. The game has me intrigued.

Aiming in combat seems like its beyond just aiming. I like that you control attacking to different sides and blocking and such.

Player cities and an open world. One of the most intriguing parts of MMOs I've played featuring these.

Server vs Server pvp. hell yeah.

I'll be playing on Tyranny the super populated pvp server :)
