Hey Everyone. I decide to join and post a little info about myself,
The names Yvonne, Call me VON
I'm 17 I turn 18 soon and i just bought my first car 1996 Firebird TRANS AM "Mr. Fird"
http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o30/uvonni/njfboa/IMG00018-20091105-1457.jpg
He's got 123,000 miles on him. I don;t know too much about him yet that i didn't even get the chance to pick him up to bring home.. I will friday. I know he has been sitting for a few months he needs a little work but nothing major! (the fog lights don't work :( )
Befor this car I used to own a 1977 cadillac deville (I still own it i need to get rid of him.. the yellow cadillac MR.BANANA BOAT)
http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o30/uvonni/njfboa/l_94919378a35b4528be0f691d82798550.jpg
Yes I am sitting on it lol...
But it ended up being a total rattle trap piece of crap at only 141,000 miles.. my father did not take care of the car correctly. it caused me more hassle then anything. hopefully this TRANS AM won't be. It;s clean from what we been told, seen and heard it's a very well taken care of car...
Anyway thanks for looking :) !!
PS. Is my sig gonna get me in trouble??? is it too "raunchy" lol the last part...

No not friday.. saturday.. since someone ****ed up our plans. Drove it home (45 minute drive) with a bad water pump and busted tail light... we are slowly finding out new problems with the car.. but as long they are not major.. (most of them are stupid things like bolbs and lights working funky)
My mom took some photos for me as the 4 hour ride home went on.. we made sure the car cooled down all the way before we would drive it again.. My mom followed us the whole time just in case anything happened. She was very supportive and positive about the car when i lost hope lol (I am just a paranoid freak)

Update: In other news the car had a few more problems then expected but it's doing good now. got all new brakes. Getting new bump stops, The rear was serviced and seals replaced ... The tail light wires were chewed.. I don't know ****ing mice got to them... lol at least they didn't get into the car! The fog lights are working again, the new water pump, distributor and spark plugs/wires are on.. new pulley, belts, oil change... Only a few more things to go... (for now lol) The trans mount and pan seal have to be replaced still. that's all for now

yea, good job. The oil pan seal is a pain but very doable. I did it myself in about a hour and half in my driveway. Just get the motor up as far as you can, and drop the k member a inch or 2 and you will get enough clearance.
Just noticed the Triboro sticker on the back of the car. Where did you pick the car up from?

Well I think there's things that might need to be replaced on the motor. I am unsure... I might get a rebuild someday since it is a 123k motor.. I over payed for the car a little but it's worth it to me .. It has a perfectly straight body on it.. clean!! It just has a few problems.. It's also been sitting so.. We'll see how it goes.. It runs decent... A little rough in the cold tho..

The main coolant line has broke going down the road for it's test drive. It had a really bad leak! It snapped in half when my mechanic grabbed it. 125$ for both with a GM discount... I already payed 1000$ in the labor. He really saved me money doing all this work for 1000$..!!! so far in the car is... 1000$ in parts and 1000$ in labor.. 6000$ so far.. more to go i am sure.. Wish the guy would sold me the car for 3000 instead 4000 lol oh well It's like I payed for a perfeecttllly PERFECT car body with no known rust. Oh well should be a fun project!
