i would assume the average calling plan plus whatever internet service they tack on would be between 80-120 bucks, they might also tack something on since you didnt buy the phone from them........

i get reception everywhere i go..never any dropped calls. its 30 bucks a month for the data plan. i use everything all the time, maps, 3g network etc..but its only because im in my car at least an hour and 20 minutes a day, and have nothing to do in between my classes...if it wasnt so handy for my situation i would never have bought it.

ive had it for a year and a half and already its slowing down and im getting sick of it, however the ipod part of it, internet browsing, and service are great.

its really hard to explain..but u'd hit a button, and it would be a delayed response..sometimes ull wait longer than others. for instance if i wanted to go into sms, i would hit the key and it will show up 4-5 seconds later.

also i would restore it to the factory settings, and the apps wont work, so id restore it again and two weeks later the apps wont work again

I have an iPhone and love it. Haven't had a problem yet. It's alittle expensive. I pay a 100 a month for 450 roll over min and unlimited text. But i love the iPhone so it's worth it to me

I have a I-Touch right now. I like it, lot of times I wish I had the I phone when I cant find Wi-Fi. Soon as my GZOne dies (which doesn't look like anytime soon cause it is a awesome phone), I'll look into a I-phone or something comparable.

Yea, don't upgrade it at all if you plan on doing that, believe the new software does not alllow for that anymore.

I pay 73.00/month for unlimited mobile to mobile 1000 mins unlimited text and unlimited internet.

you might have a bad iPhone I've never had problems like this nor has my girl who has had one just as long as me she never upgraded to the 3gs so technicaly has had the 3g longer.

Oh yeah and when it's time to update it you'll know cuz the screen just stops working all together.

have you ever had one?
cause that is not true you get a text message saying the new upgrade is available to download and you connect the iPhone to itunes to upgrade that is the only way the new update can affect your phone unless you have it hacked..

turn off location services and wifi or just don't use them 24/7 and the battery will last almost double.
But if you use the internet, games, movies, and apps A LOT then the battery will only last a day or so depending on how much you use it.

I just got one as well, and I just switched from Verizon. For our intents and purposes, it is cheaper (family plan with rollover minutes and unlimited messaging). Also, verizon didn't get service at our house, and att gets a little. Service with verizon is far better, it isn't even a question. But my school paid for my iPhone and my friend spilled coffee on my blackberry so I had to buy a phone quick. Overall, I am happy with it. Texting sucks as I generally use my thumb. I have to disagree with my82roc though, I haven't been able to get over a day of battery out of the phone yet. It hasn't been a huge issue because I own about 5 ipod charges so I put one in my bag to charge in class, one in the car, one on my desk, etc...

I'm used to charging my phones anyhow because I'm always on it. The only problems I have with AT&T is dropped calls now and then, but I still get service everywhere I would with verizon and the phone is amazing a year after I've had it. Usually I'm bored with a phone after the first month.

If your phone is lagging when it opens messages, clear out your messages. Chances are it's loading months worth of messages every time you open them and there's no need for it. Unlike other phones it doesn't have a limit to your inbox.

hmm true ill try that.

with the battery life..there are pluses and minuses. if you use your phone alot, like apps, games, internet, etc its going to die really quick. the plus side is you can charge it if you have a computer and usb cable, and many people have these because they have ipods.

a trick to longer battery life is turning the brightness down to really really low

Battery life can be bad if you play alot. Just buy a car charger. If you have it pluggd I of will go from 10 percent to 100 in like 30 min. It's chargers must faster then a regular phone. I haven't had any major problems yet. A few bugs with the new software but all of Which been fixed with updates.

Simple solution to battery problem..... plug it in before you go to sleep everynight. No problems with it here.

the only reason ill get rid of my current iphone is to get the next one coming out. i use it to find local restaurants, get phone numbers for businesses (which you can just click the phone number from the browser and it calls), use it for GPS (map quest) it takes awesome pics, you get the point. there isnt really anything that you cant do with it. i even open .pdf files when i get orders sent to me from the base. btw your email automatically gets picked up by the phone.

My bro has a droid phone and my boss has the blackberry. Both are are nice and comparable to the iphone without a doubt. I just like the ease of itunes. I bought the 32gig 3gs and i more then half of it filled up with music and got movies on it. Not that you can do that on other smart phones but its easy with itunes exspecialy if you already have an ipod. My bro wishes he bought the iphone instead of his droid just because off the itunes and a million more apps.

If you have Verizon, I would get the Storm2. iPhone just caught up with the stuff the Storm has, and now the Storm2 offers more features, and now WiFi.
I love my Storm, and now that I updated to 5.0 software, any and all problems Ive had with the phone are gone.
Its fast, tons of apps, and you dont need to bow down to Apple-only software or AT&T's shotty service.
Droid is still not a true touch phone with the keyboard, no idea wtf that is all about. Same with the Pre.
The rest of the touch phones dont compare to either the Storm/Storm2 or iPhone.

If you have Verizon, get the Storm2. If you have AT&T, get the Storm2. Better phone, better service.

Play with it. I went in and played with the one the big Verizon store had, but someone had changed a lot of the settings.
Storm2 also has some sort of 3D software for pictures. Ive been reading on crackberry.com for a while about it, but havent seen anything to show it off.

Incorrect regarding the Droid. The phone has the full on-screen touch keyboard as well as the pull out regular qwerty keyboard. I have an second gen iTouch as well which is the same as a new iPhone but just can't take pics or make a phone call. The touch screen use and keyboards are near identical and both have the same text correction and auto complete.
