Anybody who has known me for a while knows that I'm a fat fook, er, I mean they know that I've been battling the bulge, but have swung down on the scale, only to roar right back up. And as I get older it's harder to lose the tonnage, and being fat is bad, period. I looked into Lap Band surgery, but my dayum ins. says I ain't fat enough. So, I figured I'd give hypnotism a shot. I've known a lot of peeps who've gotten off the smokes with hypnotism, including my 'ol man, who was a heavy schmoker for over fitty years. So, last month for a b.day present to myself I got hypnotised. It was a pretty cool procedure, the hypnotist is SMOKIN' hot, and she didn't make me cluck like a chicken...lol. So, after a month my results are as such: I've lost 13 lbs just through diet modification, my urges for fast food [which is my "drug of choice"] are nill, and I haven't cheated with any crap. I'm just eating very clean and healthy, and when I want a sweet hit I eat a protein bar or piece of fruit. But sweets were never a real problem with me: it was mainly fast food, and amounts of food I'd shovel in. I'd eat a whole pizza, not just a couple of slices. I'd get a Whopper or Big Mac meal, and super size it. And then maybe go back for another Whopper or Mac. So, I'm pretty happy w/ my results so far. I just wish I had more of an "Eye of the Tiger" for working out/exercising again. I'm due to report back to the hypnotist, and I'm going to mention this to her. Maybe she can get back in my head and switch the "PUMP YOU UP!" button to on. lol

sounds good.. you should get someone to lift with you. it helps when you have a friend to keep you in the gym and get you going. for me i have my dad who kicks my door down on weekends to get me up for the gym lol

Yup, stay away from the fast food and mainly fries and keep the portions down. Take half the meal home when you eat out and get a big serving. As for exercise, simple stuff like 30-45 minutes of walking and riding a bike will go a long way.

Its tough for me to stay away from fast food, especially at work. I usually go to my fathers and take a nap, but then not eating is almost as bad as eating poorly.
Portion control is another thing. The GF has started to keep an eye on what I eat, and how much. Its tough growing up, making sure you ate everything on your plate, and that nothing went to waste.

Heh, unless there is a 'lil guy in that bottle who will come out and kick me in the azz to get me motor-vated to work out, I'm sticking to au-natural diet and exercise. I almost f'd up my guts back in da day by taking doses of "instant muscle" and "fat burners!"

I honestly believe that addiction to fast food is along the same lines as being addicted to drugs. I literally went through withdrawl from the fast food crap.
I felt like crap physically, and I got so depressed I took a few days off from work. That crap AIN'T food!!!

Yeah, the big azz subs are by the wayside for the time being. Bread is a no-no, and all that meat...while yummy...is just TOO MUCH MEAT! But when I get myself to a higher plain of buffness I will treat myself to a big azz sub once in a while, but prolly get at least 2 meals out of it, vs. the usual one gulp down I used to experience!

I'm looking into that now. I have resumes out there with a few monsters of the midway. :)

You weigh 63 lbs, soaking wet. I don't know if I should listen to you or not!

Big Al, what I've been doing to avoid not eating and having to eat fast food is keep some protein bars, protein shakes, and fruit in the car. I know how hard it can be to juggle stuff, but I work 3 jobs plus commute all over the f'n place, so if I can do it, anybody can!
I also was Mr BIG portion...but now if I get a big portion I just take the leftovers for later use. Tonight I had a big rack o' ribs n' a baked tater for dinner, and I only ate half of the selection, plus a nice salad. I was full, happy, and have a nice meal for tomorrow from the leftovers.

U should speak to a doctor and have some blood work done. There could be something standing in your way medically that you don't know about.

Yeah, but worse is that Im standing for hours, answering phones, and when I get an hour, not a lot of choices to do.
My problem is portion control. I need to master that, that should help cut it down.

definitely good to see someone caring about their health. there are definitely some other little tricks to dieting. if you eat a huge meal in the morning, like when you first wake up, you wont crave big meals throughout the day as long as you eat smaller meals every 3-4 hours.

I have a terrible diet now. Ive been eating fast food all summer long just because it's fast, and I've gained a little over ten pounds now. But since I'm a landscaper, and i do nothing all winter, I'll go into hibernation and come out next spring back to my old weight. Its good to be young.

a gym in the town next to me had a deal while they were building, sign up for a membership then and it's $10... a year-ish later their membership is still $10/month.
And grats, bob!
