Well with the roaming strike zones and muffed calls in the World Series, the skins/saints fumble and time out give back to the saints, texas' narrow escape and the nba referee saying he predicted his games (ones he bet on) with a 70-80 percent accuracy by knowing which refs are biased towards which players and have relationships with certain teams and obviously been going on in hockey for the longest it leads me to question one thing....

are sporting events legit contests or are they just ''sports entertainment'' like wrestling. it seems like maybe the nfl can market two undefeated teams better than they can the redskins win....either way the call wouldve been right....it was a fumble, but the evidence wasnt conclusive so it shouldnt have been turned over....so just the question....

are these contests legit in your eyes????

I think I lost all faith in NFL officiating after the steelers played the seahawks in the superbowl.

The world series was pathetic. These are men who follow baseball their entire lives and get an oppertunity to officiate the most holy of holy series and they made a mockery of some of the calls.

Hockey is evidently bias. Only sport where refs can make judgement calls. Letting the players play and let calls go or by being strict. In hockey you can get offsetting penaltys of a player trips another player and the player that gets tripped dives. How do they both get a penalty. Either it was a trip, or it was a dive. It can not be both.

I dont think its fake like wrestling, but I believe there is behind the scenes reasoning why some calls are made the way they are.

EDIT

I remember watching this once and thinking , "you have to be kidding."

Anytime you introduce judgement into sports you create another area for problems.

I still think they should build a mag sensor system into the puck so that they know without question when it enters the goal.

Wow, I missed that one....I'm at a loss for words.

Anyway, in regards to the original question at hand...no, professional sports is still nothing like the WWE. The WWE has its outcome predetermined no matter what happens. Even if the refs or umps have a predisposition to a team it's still up to the players to determine the outcome. Even the team that gets the bad calls throughout the game can still win.
