It will be used for photographing landscapes and cars and such. Pretty much what any of us would be using it for. Thanks

It's an excellent camera for that price range... just remember that a camera is only as good as the glass at the end of it :)

Can't go wrong with a Rebel! Best part is the glass is all interchangeable.

Great camera, I use the XS, my dad uses the XSi..cant go wrong with either.
I have an XTi Like everything about except the CF card  I dont have a card reader slot in my comp for the CF card. You can check out my pics on my photobucket if ya want. Takes good night shots too if you have a steady hand...if not get a tripod too

Xti has 19 mp and the xsi has 12 mp. So it's only better
um I thought it has 10.2mp??
Edit yeah only 10.1 mp with the xti and 12.2 with the xsi, but at that point you really just splitting hairs unless your doing wall size posters with it.

D90 is supposed to be the best for its price range.. better than all mentioned above... as per consumer reports anyways.
And its about twice the price as the other ones mentioned. So it should be better. Litterally about a year ago to the date I paid 1350 for mine and another 50 for a 4gig high speed card.
Just for ****s and giggles. I took this over the summer

back when i was lookking at the canon xti it was being compared to the nikon D80 so i figured the D90 couldnt be far off in price.. but yeah i remember looking in consumer reports magz and it had teh best ratings.. GREAT SHOT by the way.

its not for me. It's a group gift for a buddy of mine who is moving out to California. His birthday is a week after Christmas and he is leaving a week from today. He is a car guy and loves photography, although he only has a crummy point and shoot. He was lamenting to me via email how he wants a camera so I emailed a bunch of friends and his brother and sister and got funding to purchase the Canon. Here is his car for those who care. I know its not the style of most of those out here, but i love the stance and stretched tires. The car handles like its on rails too. Here is him running the Tail of the Dragon. If you don't know what that is, google it. It's hallowed ground for car enthusiasts.

Thats cool you got together to do that for him. In that case he won't be diissapointed!

Yup! He's had that thing for a few years now. He took me for a ride in it back when it was stock. It's a great little car.
I hope he likes it. The camera shipped out today. I'm sure he'll be taken back by it.

job opportunities out there. He'll be doing a semester over there and then looking for a job. If he finds one, he'll stay. If not, he comes back. I'm gonna try and take a trip out there to visit him next summer.

I dont blame him...I am doing a non-paid internship right now, since finding a job has been fun, I am probably heading down to Louisiana (where my buddy is stationed at Ft. Polk) since i have gotten a prospective employers emailing me back and forth in Texas. Gotta do what you gotta do in these times.

Not with the clutch issue it has :-( Its sat since late september-ish. I dont want to work on it because if its the throw out bearing or clutch, and the trans has to come back out again, im gonna be a bit ticked off
