Does anyone know a way to find the HP limits a 255lph pump can support?

A hotwired/racetronix kit is good to about ~500 WHP.

Run a voltage booster if you need the extra fuel. There is nothing wrong with a voltage booster, in fact it's better for the pump than the stock setup that adds resistance to slow the pump down. I'll have to look around, but I thought I remember an article showing LS1 Corvettes making 550-600 rwhp with the stock pump and the voltage booster with no problems.

seems like a Brake specific fuel consumption of .6 and estimated flywheel hp of just under 700 puts you at the 255 range. dual walbros!

Boost a pump voltage booster. I think the info was on the Kenne Bell website. Hotwire gets you more than the stock wiring setup but the boost a pumps jump it up closer to 17 volts I think.

@ 490 hp, car dropped off with fuel. so i would say a tad under 500hp (rwhl #'s)

There's a ton of tech infor on the Kenne Bell site. I searched around and finally found the reference.

8.BOOST-A-PUMP(Corvette Kits) These graphs illustrate the flow and pressure differences between a stock Corvette fuel pump and the same pump equipped with the Kenne Bell BOOST-A-PUMP. A good rule of thumb is 10 psi of fuel pressure will affect AF ratio by a potentially dangerous 8%. The Corvette pump flow is increased from 134 to 232L @ 60 psi with the BOOST-A-PUMP. That's a whopping 385lbs of fuel, enough for 600rwhp supercharged. In the Corvette, a "255L" Walbro is 192L @ 60 psi and 274L or 454 lbs fuel with the BOOST-A-PUMP or enough fuel for 750 rwhp. Subtract 20 lbs fuel for every 10 psi of boost pressure if fuel pressure is not increased to compensate for the higher manifold pressure.

Thanks Jeff, but thats for a power application where the increase in fuel can be added linearly. I am more worried about a sudden 150 shot pushing the pump to much in too short a time period and have fuel pressure just face plant.

an auxiliary fuel system would sure stop that from happening.....

The boost-a-pump can also be rpm triggered I believe so that should work with nitrous wouldn't it? Check with Injuneer Fred to see how he set up his car for nitrous.

He runs a separate pump for the nitrous.

i think what he means is you don't have to have the boost-a-pump always on overworking the fuel pump. when you need it, it can be triggered on.

Just run a stand alone, it will get you ready for when you have a built
bottom end and want to hit it with a larger shot. Not only that but it's cheaper to run c16 in that than in the whole tank and safer than spraying on pump gas

i have the 255 plus the hot wire kit never saw a problem with fuel drop
