View Full Version : I don't get people....

So I've been casually searching for a cheap DD to replace the Corsica. I've sent out countless emails on ads with simple requests. I don't think asking for the mileage is anything major(I guess including the mileage in the ad is too much work) or asking for interior pics or pics in general. How the F do people expect to sell cars?
There's one person in NE Philly selling an Intrepid for cheap, decent mileage, the 2 outside shots look good...so I've emailed 4 different times asking for just one interior pic and that I have cash in hand. No response....yet the ad is posted every other day.
Then there's a guy in South Plainsboro selling a 90-ish Cougar. If I get more than 2 word replies I'd be lucky. It's like he can't be bothered to answer whether the heat/AC work well and if there are any issues with the car.
WTF is wrong with people?
Just venting...people's stupidity never ceases to amaze me.

I hate the one email people on craigslist. "Will you take this much cash in hand?" And thats it ... no response again. Even if you said yes.
the spectacular messy interior shots are great also. Cant spend 45 seconds to get a trashcan and toss out all the soda cans/cups, put the change in the ashtray, and shake the floormat out?
And the tiny partial car shots are the greatest. A 320 x 240 pixel picture of the back half of the car while you were jumping on a trampoline shows me a lot.
I've been maintaining my opinion of "most people are idiots" ever since I joined this website. For some reason this opinion is very controversial. I think you're starting to come around

George Carlin said it best. "The average person is 'this' stupid. That means 1/2 the people you meet are stupider than that!"

heres my stupid person story...the firehouse in the community i work for called and said they had a mouse problem and wanted us to call an exterminator. they didnt try putting out traps or poison...nahh lets just call the exterminator. i went over tehre to see if they were leaving open food out or something...there was stuff EVERYWHERE...cookies, candy canes, open soda cans, all the sugar packets were eaten, the floor was dirty with crumbs all over it...and they wonder why they have a mouse problem?
****ing idiots

Dude its bad, I sent someone mapquest to my house for a pick up of an item i was selling on craigslist, an hour after they were supposed to be there i got a call askingwhat they do after they get onto the turnpike??? considering they were coming from 10 miles away, and the turnpike is nowhere near me... i'd call them dumb.
I also love the guys asking you about you item on craigslist that ask questions that you answered multiple times in your listing.... smart people!!

I also love when your selling something on craigslist and you get a call from someone saying they'll come now to get it but they give you some riduculously low offer like a kick in the balls kinda offer for them to come.

I love the people that either post ridiculously blurry pics of the car and when you ask them to email you decent pics, they go "there's pics in the ad already!"
Or even better, the idiots that post an ad for a certain car, and attach pics ... of a totally different car! I mean really, you are supposed to preview your ad.

I remember when i sold my iroc (wrecked) on cragslist.. i posted it at 12 midnight and like 4 emails in 2 hours and then my fone rang all day... i needed a secretary to answer all those calls and questions.. then god forbid u dont take the ad down AS SOON AS U SELL THE CAR lol
anyone whos realllllly loooking to sell their car will answer... anyone who dont give a funk isnt really lookin to sell.. imo

I found this s10 on craigslist and the guy told me there was slight damage to the drivers bed side, I in turn asked for pictures of said damage. He sends me two pictures from about 20ft away at about 10 at night under what looks like a street light. He also claims the damage he told me about has been fixed. I figure what the hell i'll drive the hour away to see this thing because the price was decent and i really wanted a 4cyl 5speed step side. Anywho i get there and the bed side which was "fixed" was rattle can'd. He explained to me that this great place down the road mixes the base color and clear coat and puts it in a spray can.... Great. So i inspect the car and it is beat up, rims had been painted chrome with spray paint, holes on the inside of the bed, and cab corners were beginning to bubble from rust.
Granted i was overly eager to go see this thing, but c'mon. The entire bed side was done with spray paint....

They mixed base and clear and put it in a spray can......w....t.....f.....lol
My search for DD still continues with even more jackasses ignoring emails while posting the car(s) for sale every other day. One guy had an ad up for a '95 Thunderbird(4.6) with 200K on it....dude wanted $2500  WTF...unless that has a kilo of cocaine in the trunk I think that's a wee bit overpriced. I'm starting to see that now...people are thinking their **** boxes are worth gold.

i blame cash for clunkers. all the dumb, stupid, oblivious or just plain need to get a quick sale people traded their cars in for econoboxes and left people like me that usually wheel and deal these cars high and dry.

Casually looking for a 93-97 Thunderbird/Cougar, a Beretta, Probe/MX6 etc.

Meh, I know two people with them that have over 180K on them..still going strong. It seems like they're hit or miss...and if they miss the repairs are big $$.
I don't know, I wouldn't even mind a early 90's Z24, Grand Am etc. There's just nothing out there and what is out there people think they're worth Porsche money lol

if there was a motor to stay away from in the probe it would be the dohc v6. just a big piece of crap. the 4 bangers are tough though

my dad has a 1994 sentra, he is right, it's good as hell on gas, watch the exhaust though, they tend to break at the point where the muffler meets, and if you live in a hilly area, it's like the little engine that could everytime, you wonder if your gonna make it.

Thanks for the offers guys but I can't drive stick that well due to physical issues. I also want to stay away from making big purchases from board members...too many things can go bad and get WAAAY too ugly.
