So the pc has been running slow the last few days with some spots of good performance..well I had to reboot and the pc hung up at the xp screen....shut it down now I'm getting the blue screen od death...tried each ram stick and samev result. I'm thinking hard drive....any opinions?

Tried to boot in safe mode?
Got this two weeks on my other PC. Had to replace the motherboard. You can try a fresh XP install, but if the problem persists, look into getting a new mobo.

It could many other things other than the motherboard. That would be a last resort and at that point it may be easier to go with a new computer

Stop testing ram by pulling the sticks and get Memtest boot program. Then you'll know for sure.
Its hard to diagnose a mobo going bad. Open her up, make sure theres no loads of dust causing anything to over heat.
Whats the BSOD code?

Its the HD...first partition destroyed...but now the pc won't turn on because I dropped it :mad:

It was the hard drive then the wire to the power switch came loose lol.
