Right now it looks like we might be getting over a foot of snow! I'm going conservative with 18"! And I need to get a snowblower some time soon, I don't enjoy the shoveling like I used to.

I wish the coast got as much snow as you guys... we always get screwed out of a good snowfall.

Yup, I bet maybe some flurries, and a lot of rain/ice.

Fun.

Here's the current model showing precip amounts in inches of rain. Translate that to snow and Wow!

What weather are you people looking at? I see possible snow showers Sunday, which has nothing to do with Saturday's meet. And that's for out in NW Jersey in the boonies on a mountain!

Same. There's a chance of snow showers Sat Night into Sunday morning. 30% at that.

I'm hoping like hell it doesn't snow down here. Then the apartment's parking lot gets close for plowing and I have to find parking on the street. Huge pain in the ass.

Uh-oh. Hurricane Schwartz says snow

http://www.nbcphiladelphia.com/news/local-beat/Weekend-Storm-to-Bring-Major-Snowfall-79559562.html

"We're talking about very high accumulations, especially for December," NBC Philadelphia chief meteorologist Glenn "Hurricane" Schwartz said.

weather.com says 4-8 for my area...doubt we'll get 2 inches...another storm gets blown outta proportion.

I heard 6-12 on the radio this morning. The threat of that much is enough to convince me to tune up the snow blower tonight and bring some stuff inside the shop that normally sits outside.

JL8Jeff
12-18-2009, 07:38 AM
It looks like 6-12" for most of the state with the south getting more and north getting less. But there is also a good chance for a decent storm next week so it could be white a for a while! It looks like my 4Runner will be ok to drive as well, the brakes aren't as bad as I thought they were.

Knew I should have gotten the snowblower ready for the season earlier. Guess I'll be off to Lowe's to buy salt before the there isn't much left.

R we actually gonna get hit with some SNOW?

or is the overpaid can-be-wrong everyday without losing his job weather man gonna be wrong again?

really gonna piss me off if I just hooked my plow back up to my truck and loaded it with salt for nothing!!!!

I hope we get snow. I rebuilt my plow/pump this summer and need a good snow storm to try it out.

Holidays are always better with snow.

JL8Jeff

It doesn't look like 18" here like I guessed, more like 12" maybe but I haven't gotten out for a real measurement yet. Pretty impressive for a Dec storm and winter starts tomorrow!

We got peanuts here - maybe 4-6" in my area of Bergen County. In fact, the wind almost completely cleared one walkway already. Gonna go shovel and clean the Jeeps off in a few minutes, but it's not bad at all.

sweetbmxrider
12-20-2009, 09:59 AM
yeah we have every bit of 2 feet along with the 3-4 foot drifts. i'm gunna jump off my roof!!

they called for 12-18 by me...we got about 6-8. still kept me at work for 19 hours though, it came soooooooo slow

BonzoHansen
12-20-2009, 11:06 AM
No ****. this was the slowest foot of snow ever. started at like 6 am fell about an inch per 90 minutes then must have dumped for an hour or so overnight
