...Not holidayish at all?

I don't know what it is, the past few holidays(Halloween, Thanksgiving...) just havent felt like anything.

Normally in the festive spirits, but not so much at all the past few years...

It won't feel like Christmas till I'm done with this semester. Which won't happen until the 23rd. And that sucks.

I try to be as festive as I can every year... eggnog, walnuts, gingerbread, wreaths, lights, decorations, you name it, I have/had it. This year took a little more effort. I finally felt in the spirit today (no joke) after sitting in line with a jug of eggnog at the local grocery store... with what seemed like thousands of angry people, arguing and shoving carts out of the way, calling each other ********, idiots, and telling each other to "get the hell out of my way already", all while there was a 4 piece jazz band playing Silent Night in the center of the store. Ahhh, the holidays is finally here

Just had to share my holiday experience.

I've heard more people say that they can't get into the holiday frame of mind this year. I was out of it last year and this year is no different. And I hate winter and it hasn't even started yet.

halloween was kinda beat but that was my fault. thanksgiving was nice. def in the christmas mood. not so much zombie buying stuff at the store but decking out the house and blasting that christmas music. its always fun. the closer it gets the more it sets in too.

I'll admit that I used to hate the holidays. But me and my wife had our first baby this summer and that totally change my perspective on the holidays. I covered the front of the house with lights and set up the tree early this year. I got all my shopping done early and I'm really feeling festive. All because a little baby girl.

not if the toaster if full of toast. Then you're just using their head to eject breakfast.

Ok, the Metalacalypse Xmas special has reinvigorated my XMas spirit.

Clip: The Christmas Tree (http://video.adultswim.com/metalocalypse/the-christmas-tree.html)

It's like having a rotting corpse in your house but the corpse of a tree, you know. It's kind of bad ass. It's damned and humiliated even further by hanging ornaments all over it like **** you....Let's throw some rotting meat om it and pour some pig's blood on it or whatever, you know, it'll be bearable I guess.

I will agree that having kids help make the holiday's more festive - my 2.5 year old is really into Christmas this year. I have managed to somehow almost completely avoid Christmas music this year though: Radio in my Jeep is non-functional, allowed one of my XM subscriptions to expire (other is in my wife's Jeep), and haven't had time to put any on at work lately either.

Time is flying by this year, but I'm still excited to watch him open presents on Friday morning.

:stupid:

I didnt feel festive at all.. but I was away in the caribbean til Tuesday and theres something about warm weather that doesn't feel like Christmas even though the islands are far more festive than we are here. I didn't feel Christmasy until last night decorating a tree at my aunts house.. going out to breakfast this morning with my entire dysfunctional family sealed the deal that it was Christmas though

They put on a good show. I saw them last year. Steven Tyler was the special guest and they did Sweet Emotion and Walk This Way at the end.

I don't see that happening anytime soon again LOL.
