The two companies couldn't agree on a deal, so Cablevision doesn't carry those channels anymore. Once a new deal is in place, those channels will be back.

cablevision has lost alot of channels over the past year, its almost not worth watching tv unless you have a box. really the only channels worth watching is espn and discovery

Yeah, my father was pretty upset. HGTV and Food Network are off by him. I havent checked my house which is Comcast, but I dont think thats a TW company.

Yeap this.

So have you Fios guys gotten your $500+ bills after being promised $125 a month? I've heard some nasty stories.....

There's always gonna be nasty stories - I have a FiOS double play package (phone / internet) and after my 2 year promo rate of 69.99 / month expired, it went up $5.00. So I'm paying $74.99 / month for their nationwide long distance and 25/5 internet. My Comcast cable price jump was far worse. I had a promo package from them that dropped the digital package that should have been $77.xx / month to only $56.xx / month, and included a full HBO subscription. When the promo ran out after 2 years, the price jumped to $100 / month for the same package without HBO (which would have cost another $20 / month if I kept it).

I would love to ditch Comcast all together, but my wife refuses to switch to FiOS TV, and I refuse to go back to Comcast internet....we are gridlocked.

No. Mine did not, although it is time to call and get a rate reduction.

I remember you having a reason, but I forget why. I love FiOS TV, even the way the channels are organized is better than cable IMO

BTW my bill is like ~150 for 5 TVs, Internet, & phone.

i have the optinum triple play, phone tv and net. overall its good it sucks about the hgtv and food network. but im sure it will return. i dont want to get rid of it because the net is blazing fast compared to dsl (which i tried and hated it). right now there is a little problem with one of the boxes in the house. not sure why but all of them crash and have choppy pic. a tech is coming tomorrow to fix.

buy an ooma and never pay another phone bill again. Totally worth every penny. If you are paying 25 a moth for the phone, in 6 months you break even.
