Hey everyone,
I am installing headers and snapped a bolt inside the head so I needed to pull the head. Rather than trying to extract the bolt myself I want to be safe and just have a machine shop take care of it...well 3 of them out for me haha. Does anyone know of a good machine shop in Somerset or Hunterdon county or the surrounding area??? Thanks!!

Bill at Clinton machine in High Bridge can probably take care of you.

Thanks a lot, that's only about 30 minutes from me. I will look up and call tomorrow.

Fischer automotive in Edison also could help.

Weston Machine in Piscataway was top notch when I used them a couple years ago.

Should be taking them to clinton machine tomorrow morning to have them check it out. If they don't want to touch it I will try one of the other recommendations. Thank you for the help everyone.

+1 on that one, they do good work. My buddy used to work there. They do a lot of high performance motors too, so this would be a cake walk.

well 2 and a half months later I just wanted to give a thumbs up to bill at clinton machine. I brought my heads there to get the bolts extracted... and then got a valve job, heads machined, cleaned, painted, etc. and although I spent more money than I wanted to everything seems good. Unfortunately the car is still in pieces since I am now back in school but spring break is only 2 weeks away.

How much did he charge you to get the bolts extracted?

$7 a bolt I believe (Maybe 5?) and I needed 1 helicoil but I don't think he charged me for that with the other work done

Would you guys be able to extract bolts also? It looks from your website that you are a regular machine shop?

Nope, we aren't a machine shop. I have heads ported, milled and and cams custom ground by our cam guy (Ed Curtis) up in New Hampshire.

Oh ok got it. Yeah Bill at Clinton Machine was good. I am actually probably going to be stopping by your shop in a couple weeks as I am trying to go around to some of the local shops to help me figure out what I want to do with my car.
