Bob is a great guy to deal with. It's a little bit of a ride but well worth the trip.

^^ yea he did mine too... hes very honest and easy to work with... and will set you up for exactly what you want to do... its about a 2 hour ride from our area though... i used to live out that way in penn so i knew right where he was....

i wouldnt suggest having it faceplated if your still going to DD it but i guess its all about what you want to put up with. talk to ron about it

Or faceplate 3rd and for street cruising go 1st, 2nd, 4th.

Car may no longer see DD duty. I'm tossing around with the idea to go auto, but at the same time if I can get a more race friendly t-56 in the car that would be nice too. I'll have to talk to ron about his trans. Not sure of the driving characteristics of a faceplated trans other than rev matching when downshifting.

I'd like O/D if I ever wanted to take it on a descently long cruise and still keep the rpm somewhat low. 4l80E would be nice, but I think it would cost a lot more than it's worth. If I was able to swap to a 4l80E with minimal money out of pocket it would be worth it....or I could just learn how to drive a stick:lol:

you have a new clutch, you could get a decent amount of money for your full swap. i got $1500 for mine :)

I vote - learn to drive stick lol:mrgreen:. Autos are idiot proof but they're no fun, plus your six speed has 2 overdrives:lol:

99-02 pcm's can control 4l80's. you can pick one up at a junk yard for relatively cheap and they are very strong to begin with. rebuild kit, aftermarket clutch pack and a converter, also cross member and dipstick, and you are rockin 8-) ls1tech has a sticky about it

i would agree except that it wouldve cost an arm and a leg to build the trans/clutch to hold up to what my TH400 will hold :)

are you talking about an auto or stick being built up? Because i'm pretty sure my stock t-56 is holding the power fine.

Go for a Th400 with a manual valve body, it's the best of both worlds.

not if I want to retain o/d. I don't plan on making the car a full on racecar...yet

when you learn to drive you will start breaking parts. if you dont break a stock part your not getting the most out of your setup lol

Dont worry Josh we'll show you how the T56 holds up to your TH400 just dont get scared when you see it next to ya at the tree. 7500 RPM gets intimidating

I think i have a 4L80E and a TH400 here as well but there right where they belong for now under my bench.

Have fun see ya at the track!

Bob you guy sell all the T56 rebuild parts as well for us few that go threw them our selves.

I've got a couple here in need of some new internals one that had the misfortune of snapping the output shaft and rear housing. That one is going Viper spec and most likely faceplated. If you get the time shoot me a PM on some pricing.

Thanks
Tommy

Thanks Guys

If anyone knows how hard it is to get things done while keeping up with checking PM's, posts, calls and anything else that comes up it me.

When and where does the meet take place ive only been to one in Millville last year might be cool to place some faces with the names.
