Well it's that time of year whats everybody working on, what upgrades are you doing. After the roll cage last summer i thought this winter would be a no project kind of winter. But the wife bought me a new ls6 crate motor so i have some work to do here is my list.

install new motor. old one is already out and sold.
buy new clutch and pressure plate, old one had 80k on it (spec stage3)
4 new hoosier a6's 315's
manual brake, move the proportion valve inside
make fiberglass t-top replacement panel
look for more weight to remove.
rescale and align the car
so thats my list, first autocross is only about 35 days away better get crackin

my probable winter/spring projects:

fun stuff:
- swap from solid 35mm front bar to hollow (done)
- softer rear springs (done)
- Koni SA's in front (pending shock dyno)
- GC coilovers/600lb springs (or strano springs on current shocks pending above)
- get my new summer tires mounted on my new WS6 wheels
- considering "upper mount mod" to gain some suspension travel (have extra set)

boring stuff:
- paint calipers (silver or black)
- tighten e-brake cable
- full detail

of course i daily drive my car and don't have a garage so winter projects aren't very fun, probably wait a month or two before doing anything

nice set up thats what i had for a few years, you might want to put a thin coat of grease on the shock body under the threaded section. Over the years the dirt and grime rusted the shock body so bad you could not remove the threaded section. So i had koni build me a custom aluminum body coil over. Are we going to see you at an autocross this year.

that's a good idea, never would have thought of that. i'm definitely planning on doing more autox this year. hopefully i'll break my average of 1 event per year. i'm pretty much done modding (of course i said the same thing last year...) and i have off fridays so hopefully i'll get to more.

do you run at englishtown?

Sounds good except for that finish word thrown in there. 2 weeks is generous

My winter project is the same as the daily project....
1. find ls1 gremlins
2. kill them !
3. rejoice with beer

but seriously, the torque converter got installed and if everything goes smoothly the cam should be in this weekend.

Some nice projects there...

For me- Have rear LCA relocation brackets welded on.
Grind rear calipers
Install front studs
Redo pinion angle

This is on top of the 3 month fall/winter project to rebuild 12 bolt, install intake, etc etc etc

Can't wait to take the car to the track with the 4.56 gears and 15" ET Drags

finaly starting to get some work done on the car. Got the motor and trans back in tonight. Got the rear lexan trimmed and blacked out just waiting for the glass guy to glue it in. The car should be at about 3140lbs when it hits the road, and have about 65 rwhp more. Thanks Christian for lending a hand.

kev - what are the specs of the new motor? what class are you running in nowadays? plans on going to nationals?

chris - will you dyno the new exhaust to see if it picks up anything?

good luck guys!

I doubt I'd spend for dyno time just for the exhaust, maybe a dyno day type thing, but not a full dyno session.

The exhaust project isn't really geared to pick up power, more to clean things up under the car. The current set up has been tweaked on so much its time to start fresh. So I'll keep the SLP dual/dual because I think from a power/dB standpoint its a proven setup and looks good. The cutout is long gone so I'll get rid of that flange and probably the bullet in the I-pipe. I'll either save the flowmaster merge and reuse it or get another one, that's a nice piece.

Philly region SCCA is pretty tight on the noise issue at their sites so I have to build with that in mind.

You got any projects lurking under the radar?

Its starting to take shape. Definitely can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Keep the project going forward, don't let it stall.

Now I gotta get cracking on my pile of parts, front suspension or rear suspension? Hmmmmm.....

The new motor is a crate ls6 with an ASA cam. Should make some good low end torque and still be bullet proof. The car is now c-prepared min weight with my engine and tire size is 3100 im about 3150 right now. Im doing the northeast divisional in may in dc. Nationals is something im thinking about. Depends on the wife's work schedule if she's traveling or not.
