Hey everyone. Below you will find our tentative 2010 meet schedule. We have not confirmed locations for all dates yet, but dates should be generally solid and in most cases the location should also be good to go. As locations are confirmed, we will still start individual threads for each meet. And for the first time we have included rain dates for many meets. We are also taking a somewhat different approach to the meets this year, as highlighted below.

Date (rain) Area Location
Sat 1/23 WC Firkin Tavern
Sun 2/21 N Chilis East Rutherford
Sat 3/20 EC Chapterhouse Restaurant, Howell
Sat 4/10 (24) S Chickie's & Pete's, Egg Harbor Twp
Sun 5/16 (23) EC Circus Drive In, Wall
Sat 6/19 (26) N Chatterbox, Augusta*
Sat 7/17 WC Duke Island Park, Bridgewater*+
Sun 8/15 (22) S Texas Roadhouse Millville, NJ
Sat 9/18 (25) EC TBD Ocean County location*
Sat 10/23 (30) N East Coast Nats, Island Dragway
Sat 11/13 WC Chili's, Flemington
Sun 12/12 S TBD, Turnersville area

Geographic Area Rotation

• Slight change from the N-C-S rotation. We will go ‘central’ every other meet. Except Central is basically divided into East & West. So we have four areas now, not three.
• Why more designated ‘central’ locations
1. More reasonable ride for more club members - makes it easier for members in N and S to attend more meets.
2. Wider net across the state. We feel that in the long term a wider spread will help us get our name out to a broader audience.
• Not really as big a change as it sounds. Check it out: See the 2009 vs 2010 map (http://www.njfboa.org/ClubFiles/planning/NJF_Map09v10.JPG) (some of the 2010 marks are off a bit)

Why publish dates in advance

• So club members have plenty of advance notice
• So we can advertise/promote well in advance and get on non-members radar. This includes advertising outside of forums, on fliers, etc. Hemmings, NJCarShow.com, local papers, etc.

So in the big picture we think this is an improvement. Advance notice on dates, easier for more members to meets, start making it easier for non-members to find us and become members. We want to try to better establish a more diverse membership so we are trying to work on ways to expand our horizons. We consider NJFBOA first and foremost as a club that meets regularly and has an online presence to help support club activities. We are not a faceless forum.

Thank you all for your support and see you out there in 2010!

I need to try and make it to at least one meet this year. I've been on here since '07 and haven't even been to one.

I do, as long as i am free i plan on making as many events as i can . I work weekends sometimes so that will interfere, but i look forward to attending. How long do these meets usually last for? 3 - 4 Hrs?

People leave early but usually 4ish hours yes. A select few sometimes stay longer

well for the first time we actally put a full year "on call" schedule together so we can finally plan out our days off and not have to just figure out whats going on. i plan on being at a bunch of meets this year even if i dont have my camaro with me.

b.s. this schedule caters to the north/central people. driving 45-50 minutes northwest/northeast isnt south to me :/

i was looking at your list up top and noticed there is nothing setup fro november.. now i know its not primer weather then for a car meet, but if needed there are some places we could certainly go to i can think of off the top of my head.. somewhat west-central.

Colorado cafe in Watchung NJ.. they used to have car shows there for years on the lawn, up till last year when the thing fell apart
they have bands there sometimes, a few big tv screens and good food and a 3 bars too. the one thing that is kinda silly is sometimes they have dancing nights (like country line dancing) which brings ina ton of ladies.. but there are many rooms that we could be away from that. and the place is big
http://coloradocafe.com/

another place that may be a good spot is the Clinton Station Diner. its in Clinton NJ, right directly at Exit 13 on I-78. super easy to get to. i ate there once and the food was good. they make ENORMOUS burgers too and have eating competitions. i think thier biggest cheeseburger weighs in at 50 pounds, then there is all sorts of other sandwiches too.

again, if you already have an event/location planned dont worry about this, i just figured i'd throw it out there as an idea
