Do you let other people drive your Fbody?

I had to take mine to get inspected today and you can hear the guys reving my car (LM) and i just hate when other people not only drive my car but "abuse" it.. i mean there where points when they were smiling at each other and laughing and revving the car...

maybe im over protective but it seemed disrespectful

anways other than that noone drives my car but me!:twisted:

I let my girlfriend drive my car and she only does when I'm with her. Other than her, if someone really wants to I have no reservations about letting them drive it. As long as they're careful. I like to be with them too.

Yes, I let anyone drive it. Its not really a big deal, its nothing special. I used to have all my cars on lock down but it comes down to the fact that its only a car. Just dont ask to drive my Nova!

I'm the same way; if I've known the person a long time and trust them, I'd let them drive it. Otherwise, they can ride shotgun. I've got too much blood, sweat, and tears tied up in my car to have some random person I hardlly know wreck it.

Case in point - a buddy of mine back in senior year of HS (1991) let a friend drive his very nice '68 Chevelle to pick up his paycheck. The kid wrapped the Chevelle around a tree on the way back to my friend's house and totalled it.

I know what you mean. I hate taking the Camaro to inspection stations for that same reason. The revving of the engine more than once seems unneccessary. I really don't know how some of these guys get their jobs at these stations.

I certainly appreciated the offer and my dad slapped me on the back of the head when I declined. I think I was more focused on getting a new best in my Bird while on the sauce and didn't want to be distracted.

I can assure you the next time you offer (praying you do) that I will not have the same answer.:)

As for my Bird, my Dad and only a select few friends have driven my car. My wife called me out one day and asked if she could drive my car knowing I would be uneasy about it. I called her bluff and said sure. We took the car to the Rutgers stadium parking lot and I tossed her the keys....she has never wanted to drive the car again haha.

I'm a bit more flexible with my G8 but I certainly pass the keys to just about anyone.

I wont ever let anyone drive my car, can't trust my friends as their immaturity will kick in, and they wont respect the power of the car, especially after I've seen how some of them drive their cars or someone elses car.. I'll let my dad drive it and thats about it lol.

I woke up at 7am one morning in January, when I was home for break, to the sound of my car starting up--Cold start + LTs + cut-out = distinct sound in my neighborhood--I ran out to the livingroom window & saw my dad driving off with my car.
I considered hiding the keys after that, but he's topped the tank off every time so far so no complaints on my end :lol:

I let two of my roommates drive it--they didn't get on it, just for a mile or so around campus, but they didn't like it.

When my younger brother was really timid about driving I took him out to 287, past 208 but before 17...the place with the long open stretches of highway, and let him open it up a little bit. Giving the keys to this car to a 17 year old isn't the smartest thing, but the point was to show him that he needs to keep his eyes on the road & everything around him, rather than glued to the speedo. It worked; I'm no longer afraid to drive with him :lol:

I only drive my car. Every now and then i let my gf. I use to keep my keys out incase someone in my household had to move my car out of the driveway but thats stopped once my wheels got curb rash mysteriously. They were less then a month old and cost me some good money but no one in my house will own up.

My dad used to take all my Camaros out usually on a Sunday morning to get bagels and newspapers. But nobody really drives the ones I've had recently except for photoshoots. :nod: I can only drive one car at a time so I needed help on that one.
