Now granted this isnt exactly the same thing, it is more refined, however I dont have access to money that would help me create a mold for my own hood. Some of you liked or hated the style of my hood, but like I said we started doing this in '05 after realizing it knocked off 2 tenths from our 1/4 mile times. Now you can buy one already done! Although we will continue to make our own

sweet hood, is it taking time off due to better colder air and or aerodynamics?

Who would have thought, they would do something like that! Too late now, at least I know I had mine first!

Thanks, its because of the Ram Air effect. My brother liked the style of the Cowl Induction and he had it hooked up to function properly but he figured Ram Air had to be better. So he cut a hole in it, just like mine.He didnt change anything else, made a pass and went 2 tenths quicker. When I first built my car, the first couple weekends out it was not cut, I was going 10.70's, cut the hole and was 10.50's. It isnt the most sophisticated set up but it works. I would recommend doing it to anyone's car if you are looking for more ways to lower your e.t. Keep in mind our cars have carb's on them.

can you take some pics inside of the scoop? is the back of the cowl blocked off after you cut the hole in the front?

thats wild you gained 2 tenths going high ten's already.

guess the 3 inch ss hood would have a similar effect

Ill get picks this weekend. The whole area cowl area is boxed in with a circular opening directly above the carb. We still have some things we want to try, to make sure we are getting the most out of it. We had an extremely short season last year, that prevented us from doing it. So technically ours is more functional in the sense that the Harwood hood is wide open on the bottom.

I would think so.

It would only have a similar effect if it is actually functional, otherwise your sacrificing time for looks from the drag.
