A few weeks ago, I went to put a ringtone on my iPhone 3GS, and to sync the ringtone, it said it would wipe media on my iPhone... well, I clicked yes and it wiped all 13gb of my music. I don't plan on making the same decision again. Anyway, I want to put another ringtone on my iPhone and it's warning me it will wipe my media again. So my question is, is there a simple way I can back up the music thats on my iPhone onto my PC, and just restore it when I sync my new ringtone? I notice a "Backup iPhone" option, but it doesn't seem to back my music up. Thanks in advance :)

I know this is an iPhone question, but I'm asking the regular iPod people if they know a way to back up music as well. Sorry for the confusion.

i know for sure that there's a way to restore your iphone completely back to your last software update, when i had to replace mine bc the screen broke, when i plugged the new one in it updated contacts, music, text messages, settings, everything up til my last update which happenedt o be the day before.

Noah - I'm thinking you need to contact the people you are getting the ringtone from. Sure you can restore the phone from a backup after you install the ringtone, but I would think that doing so would wipe out the ringtone.

u should set ur phone to 'manually sync' , and only use the one itunes to add/remove music. that way it won't delete your whole iphone, thats what i do with mine, but i use a mac so i'm not sure if its the same on the pc.
