What I find funny is that a year or two ago, on several sites there was rumors that there would be a hybrid Camaro coming, people scoffed at the idea.
Hybrid systems will be used for both fuel economy, as well as give cars a performance boost.

I read an article in Motor Trend or maybe it was Car and Driver awhile back about hybrid cars, and basically it was a comparison between a Prius and an H2. IIRC, in order to build a hybrid (such as a Prius), "x" amount of acres of land are destroyed for years because of the minerals needed for the batteries. Meaning they cannot support plant life which in turn does not support animal life. When that is compared with the horrible gas mileage of an H2 i think they said it was more economical to own an H2 for 5 years than a Prius for the same time period, or somehting along that line...

I think the hybrid technology is cool stuff....however like T69SS said it's not as environmentally friendly as people are led to believe.

You are talking about Carbon Footprint. While H2 gets 1/3 the gas milage a Prius does, the damage to the enviroment that it takes to put together each prius does far more damage then the H2's production + poor gas milage combined.

And now think about the legal costs when your Prius doesnt stop, and you hit a bus full of children...what a shame.

Pft, GM fanboii at it again, stop trying to discredit a great company like toyota.

Geez, learn how to sell cars without tarnishing other company's.

Thats the phrase- "Carbon Footprint" lol. Either way it proves that all this "Hybrids are amazingly awesome and green" hype isnt all it is cracked up to be

Yeah...its Porsche. They cut 400lbs out of thier SUV, while making it bigger and more powerful. Its now the most fuel efficent and the hybrid model is the cleanest Porsche....ever.
Everything they do, is just gold.
