I use DivX player for these... there are movies I have that I have watched fine beofre, but now I get an error saying "You may need an additional audio decoder to play the soundtrack of this file. This file contains a track in the DTS Audio (code "8193") format. You may need to install a DirectShow decoder for this audio format in order to hear the soundtrack of this file."
help plz? At least safe places to download codecs from. Thanks
edit: mod please move... put this in the wrong forum. thanks.
I'd highly recommend VLC Media Player. You can find it for free at www.videolan.org . It's really big in the "bootleg/torrent" scene due to its easy to use interface, versatility (it opens just about everything), and it's ability to re-encode pretty much any format.

Yeah, I use VLC for everything. It will play damn near anything and can re-encode whatever it can play.
