Just recently found this out on LSXTV site, Gearhead Performance has created a 2010 Trans Am. Haven't seen anyone post any information up on this car yet, though I've seen a posting of a concept that looked like it, seems it became real. Up on the site it says the price of these hit up to around 52,000$
Comes with
Standard: LS3 426 HP
Optional: Twin Turbo 6.2 ltr LS9 900 HP +

gm really missed the boat on not even offering at least a firebird-camaro OPTION on the order sheet. would be nice to be able to buy a factory ''body kitted camaro''. thats all firebirds were in the end anyway.

Thats a sleek looking hand drawing. I bet the real model would look terrible

Yeah, that message seems to be tough to grasp.

I agree. It's probably tough and expensive to make the body parts flow as well as they do on "paper".

Yeah, because the money it'd cost them to design and build that really would have paid off with all 23 people who would have ended up getting it

Pontiac is dead.

I don't mind seeing these concepts, its always interesting to see what people are doing.

I agree the spoiler needs to be toned down though.

Every time I see one, Im so glad that GM canned Pontiac.
All these Firebird noses add more overhang then the standard Camaro. Ugggggly.

And if there was a Chevy Camaro-Firebird...the Firebird community would burn GM to the ground on every message board in the world.
Pontiac people were up in arms when GM brought them a 350/400hp, 6spd manual, RWD, luxury copue for under 34k because it looked like...get this..A PONTIAC!

Now you are gunna have a Pontiac look like a Chevy?!?!! Are you ****in nuts?

Seeing all these T/A concepts and what not makes me want to keep my car for as long as I can. Man in 5 years the Firebird will be a pretty rare car to see on the road!!

yea i donno about that AL... i loved the G8... but the first two pics are nice... the front bumper on the side shot doesnt look right... and is different than in the first pic... but other than that i think it looks pretty cool... could use quad sytle headlights up front... round ones... those lights really make it look like the camaro...

lingenfelter built a TA concept in 09 for sema. It's got a 455 that makes 655 horsepower & 610 lbs ft of torque. It's modeled after a 71'. heres the link:

It's a camaro with a ricey body kit. And to think this very forum makes fun of "those" people.

Curious. What makes this body kit "ricey"? All body kits are not ricey by definition.

"Ricey" can be interpreted differently by different individuals. To me 99% of body kits are utter crap. In addition, if you take a fiero and make it look like a Ferrari, it's rice. If you take a perfectly good Camaro, and make a "trans-am" out of it - it's rice too.

As you can tell, I'm not a fan of body kits.

so by your definition all thirdgen and fourthgen birds are rice right? cause they were just camaros with jazzed up body panels.

selling a car because you cant fix the starter is rice.

There's a difference, they were made by Pontiac. They were just rebadged... subtle difference. I'm talking about people's own creations.

edit* I sold the car because it was a piece of ****.

Ok, I get it. Aftermarket kits.

To Nasty-

New body panels were used on the Firebirds. That's a new BODY, not a kit.

Definately wouldn't pay that for a body kit.

Hower this concept has a better tail panel / light set up than the Kevin Morgan one. Have to get rid of the ducktail spoiler though. Maybe something akin to the 03, 04 Mustang spoiler would look better since these concepts have compound angled rears like the Mustangs do.

Trans Am Depot is apparently getting ready to build the fifth gen wannabe T/As. Hot Rod featured it a few months back.

http://www.hotrod.com/featuredvehicles/hrdp_1003_2011_pontiac_trans_am/index.html

Not horrible to look at, and all of the body panels are built to custom, but in the end, it's still a fifth gen Camaro playing dressup.
