So the SS will get some relief or I may end up selling it to buy a 1st or 2nd gen to play with. The truck is a 2001 Silverado stepside Z71 pickup with 78K miles. It has power everything including the seats. The previous owner had the Readylift keys put in and adjusted the torsion bars to level it out and put the Mickey Thompson wheels/tires on it. It will need new tires soon and I'll probably stick with 33's since they fit well. It has the towing package and the 5.3 which moves the truck pretty good. It also has a Magnaflow cat-back which sounds nice. We probably won't see any snow for the next 4-5 years now!

The rust problems made me give up on the older 4Runners, pickups and Tacoma frame rust issue made it hard to buy something that will rot out from under you. After thinking about it and seeing how many people rack up high miles on the Silverado I decided to get a regular cab short bed 4x4. I prefer the front end on the 99-02 so that narrowed down my options. This one popped up on Ebay so I went and looked at it and after driving the 5.3 it convinced me the 4.8 wouldn't cut it. The passenger rear stepside area is cracked so I need to try and repair that but he was driving it like this since he bought it so it's no emergency.

Congrats Jeff! Might I suggest - remove the 1500 emblem from the driver side door (your passenger one is gone already!) and remove the side moldings too - that truck will look badass!!

cool Jeff. I would get pocket flares to keep crap off the sides with those bigger tires

Nice, I picked up a 99 Extended cab a little over a month ago. The 5.3 really moves these things out...even with the extra weight of the cab.

Actually yes, my 2000 SS was the most modern vehicle I've owned but now the 2001 takes that title!

And who stole the 1500 emblem already!

Yeah, I found a black 2002 stepside but it wasn't a Z71, had the 4.8, had the manual windows and about 10K more miles for $1900 more at a dealer. The pewter color should hide dirt pretty well.
