When does pontiac get phased out? Will we see 2011 models or just continued production of 2010s until they get the axe?

PONTIAC IS GONE! Any remaining inventory was sold out and mostly every Dealer around here has none left. There were NO 2010 models. Most of the signage is gone from the showrooms and brochures no longer exist. RIP PONTIAC. :wavey:

The only 2010 model is the Vibe right?
BigAls87Z28

Right, only real 2010 Pontiac is a Vibe.
Pontiac is gone. There was a plan at teh end of last year that GM would allow dealers to put the remaining stuff into dealer fleet, therefor "used cars" so they could sell them at a discounted rate. GM would pay the dealers to cover the depreciation cost to a point.
Sucks no one picked up Hummer....

i still think it sad that pontiac was ditched. the only sports cars that exist in gm now are the camaro and vette. a new trans am would have really increased their profits. there is honestly not much use for a hummer unless you live in an area where you're gonna need that type of vehicle

MOST owners of the Hummers (H4-H3) put sooooooooooo much BLING:omg: on them (CHROME bumper guards/ mirrors/ door handles/ 24" tires/ wheel centers that spun around and enough crap like that:rofl:. Wearing sun glasses just to look at one of those would still blind you8-)! Plus GOD FORBID you went off roading (riding on a patch of grass the size of a postage stamp) was totally out of the question.

What other sports cars existed when Pontiac was alive? The Solstice is the only other sporty car. G8 is still alive, just gone from our shores for a while.
Saturn had just as many sports cars as Pontiac did.

grand prix, g6, fiero, gto....pontiacs problem was ditching their heritage and trying to become bmw with their numeric divisions. something american car buyers dont relate pontiac to.

Quite true! Look at the crap they tried to PUSH into the performance division, the ASTEK:kneeslap:/ TORRENT/ LeMANS/ MONTANA and you get the picture. After they killed the Firebird in 2002 there was nothing in the performance area until the GTO in 2004.

still the fact that pontiac was dropped over buick, which in 2008 pontiac had 267,348 sales, and buick had 137,197. If they kept pontiac and brought back the firebird their sales would have sky rocketed. GM has caddy, no need for a 2nd luxury division.

This isn't the 70's any more. Having 2 versions of the same vehicle is like robbing Peter to pay Paul. Plus I'd venture to say that half of the people that wanted a new Firebird are too broke to afford one.
You also have to factor in Buick's overseas sales which are GREAT. Buick is also targeting higher end brands, something Pontiac would never be able to do.

Buick in China is HUGE! Yeah Pontiac is dead, but if it was still alive with their CURRENT models, what would you buy? All they had left was the G8.

These numbers don't include the asian market. Buick is a BIG name over there, hence gm not getting rid of them

New Regal has promise. http://www.insideline.com/buick/regal/2011/2011-buick-regal-first-drive.html
Buick website show the Regal GS show car, too. It is AWD 255 hp turbo L4.

Pontiac sold the best when it had cars like Montana sunfire Aztek and fwd bore mobiles with 2007lbs of body cladding.
Offering a firebird would do nothing but eat R&D dollars from Camaro.
Pontiac was dead when GM's market share went below 35%.
