that is crazy... car is in nice shape but is a little rough for only having 43 miles on it.. but i guess if it wasnt stored properly thats gonna happen... cool find... but the question is who on this board would pay $40k for a 1980 camaro....

anyone see what looks like 2 TTA's in the first pic? Could be just white TA's also.
I let my cars sit and they fall apart. This one gets driven 1.5 miles a year and its perfect. WTF!

the one looks like it has a tta hood... the other who knows... looks like hes got a nice collection
the white ta in front IS a TTA , rear one is a white ta, possibly a gta.
The hood you can see is nothing special.

That matters how? Most of the people on this board don't want to pay for anything.
I don't think that car could fetch $40k, but those late 2nd gens are appreciating fast.
I'd love to have a car just like that but drivable, with 43 miles that's a museum car now without a lot of work that would kill value.

yea no i understand its a collectible... but its still just a 1980 z28 and no matter how nice shape it is im surprised its bringing that much money... i like the late 2nd gen camaros... they just weren't anything special (like a hemi cuda or copo camaro) get what im saying?

Yes. But I'm saying that market is growing hotter daily. That exact car as-is except with say 43,000 miles is a $20,0000 +/-5k car now.

wow! i guess to the right person... id never pay $20k+ for a late model 2nd gen unless it looked like somthing foose designed... I understand 2nd gens are becomming more and more valuable especially because 1st gens are like untouchable and the early (prettier) 2nd gens are becomming high dollar cars, but i just cant see spending that kind of money on that car... but its a "to each his own" kind of thing i guess... i just dumped loads of money into my LT1 4th gen bird and people will call me crazy for that... so i can see both sides...

indeed, to each his own. you're not a collector. that is who will buy that car. it's not destined for one of us 'drivers'.

Yup. I'd say that no more than a handful of people on here can pick an actual "collectible"... and I'm not saying I'm in that group.

And it's a 350 4 speed car which adds to the value. I think in 81 you could only get the 4 speed in a 305 unless you were in Canada. So that adds some significant value as well. When low mileage IROC cars are selling for $25-35K, this car should be worth $35-40K. But for that money, you can get a pretty clean first gen Z28, so which would you rather have? Low mileage survivor cars will always have buyers, anybody can restore a car.

What seats are those? Did the Zs come with different seats in 80-81?

I believe that to be the 'custom cloth' interior

I agree!
Here is a different "survivor":
http://tricities.craigslist.org/cto/1683900898.html
1980 Turbo Trans Am. T-Tops WS6 Survivor 74kmi - $12000
If he holds out he'll get that and it's not a bad buy as collectors go.
Man, I'd love a black 80-81 turbo car....to modify!
