Went online to pay a ticket today, says i have outstanding warrents in Newark and Sayreville  . This came as a huge suprise to me since i have never been to Newark and had to go look up where Sayreville was on a map (never been there either). Cant do anything till the respective courts open tommorow, but i am so confused right now. Anyone have any idea how this **** can happen? :!:

I got parking ticket notices from New Hope a few years ago. My plate, but was written up as a Toyota sedan. I just called, told them that the plate number was correct, however I have never owned a Toyota, that plate is on a lifted Jeep, and that I was at work (and could verify through video security footage) at the time the ticket was written. They dropped it all just with that phone call.

Warrants will prolly be a bit more involved, but as long as you call up the courts and talk to them respectfully about the situation, you should be able to get it resolved without too much hardship.

Yep, happened to me once in that place too. They had (have) a problem with parking enforcers just writing down random license plates off the top of their heads on tickets and submitting them. Victim doesn't find out til the warrant is issued or a letter is sent in the mail about how your driving privileges in the city have been revoked. That's how I found out about mine.

i had an issue sort of like this with an old co-worker of mine. he had the same name as a felon. everytime a cop would run his plates he would get pulled over just because he had the same name

One possibility is, as stated above, whoever wrote the ticket could've been a digit or two off on the actual ticket and the courts entered it wrong.

What has me concerned is that it wasn't just one municipality. Did you ever get rid of a car with the license plates still on it, or have some stolen at some point? Could be that someone is using your old plate on their car. I once got an EZ Pass ticket for an old license plate I was assured that the "dealer" would turn in for me. It was on a car I never owned.

The only other possibility I can think of is either stolen or mistaken identity. When you call to inquire, make sure someone else isn't using your name and personal info to register their vehicles. And if they are, file a police report immediately before you start getting collection notices for money you've never spent.

yikes.. guess they went one past a bench warrant.

btw I let it go at first, but since you keep saying it, it's warrant.

again... did u ever let anyone borrow ur car who may have got a ticket and not told you.

its not a criminal warrant. its a traffic warrant . ATS t is for traffic. it means if you get pulled over you will be arrested if you can not post/pay the bail $ which is the fine $ for the ticket + additional court fines. if you (or a surtey) can not post the $, you get arrested etc etc

Same here. a few years ago got a random ticket. at that point I had never been to Filthy in my life. I think I brought it up here before. anyway. simple call took care of it.

they will arrest you, take you to the police station, run you through the motions and release you if you can pay the fine, have someone come down and pay it or you have the option to see the judge, which might be an overnight stay
