I'm on my 4th replacement cell phone under warranty, in the 6 months I've owned the phone. It came in Tuesday, and it already has the problem the first phone had (3 phones ago).
Has anyone been able to switch the type of phone they have because of so many issues? I'm getting tired of having to run to Fedex and not have a cell phone for 2-4 days.
The carrier is Verizon.
id go to a Verizon corporate store, explain your issue and say your thinking of switching carriers due to this and only way to stay is a new different phone. They would want to keep you as a customer so they may help you out. A verizon franchise place would tell you tough luck a lot faster than corporate.

Is it a Motorola phone? I had nothing but problems with a Motorola on Verizon. When I talked to them they would only replace the phone with the same one and not let me switch without it costing money. See what the term is until you qualify for a free new one.

I hope they'll do something for me because i'm still under contract with them because of a phone that has nothing but problems.

Yeah, its a Motorola phone. Its the 4th replacement already. I forget what model it is since its not labeled on it anywhere.

Paul's idea is a really good one. I'd start there. I lost my patients with Verizon and I'm switching carriers soon myself.

I had t-mobile originally, the service was ok. I switch to Verizon excellent service but no customer service. Then I switched to sprint no service anywhere, I tried to return it to radioshack, I went to 6 different radio shacks and none of them had enough cash to refund me, so I had to stick with them for a year. So i switched back to Verizon and now i'm having these phone issues.

Verizon customer service is horrendous at best. I went in to one of their stores last January to change my plan and since then they've taken it upon themselves to add services I never asked for, bill me 150% higher for the plan I signed up for, refused to let me get a new phone even after this Motorola hunk of CRAP keeps breaking, they changed my billing address on my account and no matter how many times I call to have it fixed, they never change it, I've been locked out of my online log in for almost a YEAR, and half the time they don't want to help you in the store and are rude on the phone. That being said, I'll be leaving Verizon for good next week. From what I hear, the Motorola phones have always had problems on Verizon no matter what model it is.

What they did to me was, I kept making payment and they kept posting them to some other account. so finally one day my phone was shut off. I go why is my phone shut off when i paid you guys? they go we have no record of you paying. I'm like where did all my money go? They refused to believe that I did indeed pay them. So I just switched phone carriers, and I lost my number that I had for 10 years in the process.
So I went to sprint for a year.
Then they started having collection agencies call me looking to get me to pay the money I owed them, which i already paid. So I sent them the proof of all the payments I made to them. They apologized finally and they gave me this Motorola phone for free and reduced the plan price. Well now this phone keeps acting up.

Get a casio gzone phone. Thing is badass. Had one in the ocean 3 times, in sand, dropped, thrown, the whole 9. Didnt die after a year of the abused the software started going wacky and they replaced it for free. No probs for another year.

Yea it sucks. I've been with Verizon for over twelve years and it was great for the first few years but things have gotten out of hand over the last two years.
The new thing they hit me with yesterday was sending me a text message saying I was going over my minutes and going to incur penalties. Meanwhile I call hardly anyone and use maybe 200 minutes a month out of 450.
Sounds like they suckered you back in. They gave you one of the crappy Motorolas for free because they had leftovers. These phones suck! It turns off by itself, constantly freezes, pauses when trying to text so maybe ten percent of the letters actually come out right and I literally have to retype a single message four or five times to make it right, it on occasion decides it needs to randomly start playing music, it randomly decides to erase text messages from my inbox and outbox, among other things. Oh, and the paint literally wipes off, and the coating came off in like a month.

Alot of phones with mp3 players randomly start playing music. Mine blasts pantera out of my pocket constantly. Its just bad designed with the shortcut buttons on the front / side though.

I've been with verizon for a few years now and never had a problem with customer servize at the store at the corner of Berlin-Cross Keys and BHP. If you go there they will do everything they can to help you out. Not sure if you want to make that trip or not but those people are definitely more helpful than anyone else ive dealt with.

Damn Verizon and Motorola phones. Mine has like a half touch screen kind of thing. If the keys are unlocked it goes to town in trying to delete my messages or edit contacts. Then it decide when i'm midway through a text, that it wants to send it.

If I can't get the Verizon store by me to allow me to switch phones i'll take the trip out there. My friends had some luck at my local one to get upgrade early and such.

Yeah I have a motorola but its the droid. My wife has the same phone and we never had any problems until today. My phones power/unluck button stopped working. I went up there and without questions they replaced it for free. Weve had the phones for about 4 months now so it was cool. I know you don't want the same phone but they like to work with people especially when they spend over 2oo a month for service and whos accounts are in good standing.

I had a similar problem a while back with the billing, almost identical. went to nextel for a while, they suckered me back in. However, I have never ever had a problem since. I've had the motorola droid since the day it came out now, to replace the samsung alias i had before that. both have been great phones for me.
