Whats wrong with the car?

I would look into the tune/tuneup to see why it isnt going 11.5X.....425/400 is some serious power, have seen A4's going tens with that...

an A4 putting 425/400 to the wheels is a bit different than an M6

I just need more track time. I had only been down the track a few times before and it was an auto. Just need to get it all figured out that's all.

I think you mean flat shifting, not double clutching....congrats on the times.

If you get it sorted out, you should see 11.5-11.7 like was mentioned above and pick up 4-6mph. It's all in the 60'.

Leave at 5500 rpm, keep your right foot planted in the floor board, stab the clutch and shift......and hope it all holds together.

i went 12.8x first time i ever took my trans am to the track... it had pacesetters and borla and a short shifter, but was otherwise stock on 17'' drag radials and 17'' front wheels

Exactly...and on street tires as well...still getting the hang of rowing gears at the track, my first stick shift car as a matter of fact...sorry I'm not living up to you standards Jon sorry I can't be perfect and piss as much excellence as you do. For my second time down the track with a m6 car on street tires that spun every gear, I'm more than happy with a 12.6@115

i would have someone look at the tune before you run it again... you should be trapping a few more miles per hour than that.

maybe the seller of the car was a little less than forthcoming about the power numbers. its very possible. especially when it came with damage that wasnt listed in the original sale ad

wrong, when you 60' better you will LOSE a couple mph. when you stop eating sandwiches between shifts, you might gain some back

The only thing I can go by is my car.

My car 1st time out with a lid and catback my best pass was a 13.6@108. With the Headers I my best pass was a 13.1@110.. I have 3.42 10 bolt.

My car made 320rwhp and 328rwtq with the lid and catback and trapped 108mph
My car makes 340rwhp and 350rwtq now with the macs and trapped 110mph
So for 20 more hp and 22more ftlbs I gained 2 mph

Mikes SS makes 425rwhp and 400rwtq and traps 115mph with really no tune (I have my Maft translater on it). His car needs to have a full tune done to it. I also dont know what type of power a LS6 clutch can handle but maybe a stonger clutch would help also!

I think that mph is just him not being able to drive. When you take out his driving(aka the back half of the track where there is maybe 1 shift), he picks up almost 27 mph. IMO, a car with a bad tune would not be picking up that much between the 1/8th and finish line.

My car seems to be the other way around. I've gotten my best MPH when I 60'd hard. Every car is different. I like to look at it as you're giving your self more running room when you hook and pull a good 60ft. (as long as the car isn't bogging out of hole)

Cause supra owners buy the biggest turbo they can fit under the hood.

JerzLT1

you should be trapping higher, your 60 really has nothing to do with that (at least not that much). from what it sounds like, you could drink a 2 liter between your shifts though. i picked up 3mph in my driving alone with my 6spd. my first 6spd pass ever was 12.65 @ 113 on dry rotted street tires with a bad opti.

just keep at it bro. iron out your combo, improve your driving and it'll come. its not like we were all born with a 6spd handle in our hands..... although it seems some people think they were :|
