Well, since my cam swap Ive had nothing but problems getting the car to run correctly. After tuning, the car still surges and takes a long time to find idle. Car revs up before coming to a stop, or simply idling forward. If the engine is revved up quickly, it will take a long time before settling to idle or cruising rpm for that speed. Consecutive start ups dont go well. I thought the injectors might be clogged, so I had them rebuilt and flowed, but the before/after numbers were within 2%...not the problem.
The car just started to run like real crap a few days ago and I pulled a p0151 code (Passenger O2 sensor low voltage). That O2 sensor was replaced during the tuning with a denso, which is the new GM replacement for the AC delco.
The car is an LS1, 228/232 111lsa cam, stock 241 heads, 4000 stall, and boltons. Fuel system is a walbro 255 that is under a year old. Its not burning any oil, but gas mileage is less than 9 mi/gal with normal driving.
How can I test an O2 sensor other than replacing it? I really dont think I should be blowing through O2 sensors, or having any of these problems with my mods. Any ideas as to what would cause them to go bad, or should I be chasing a different problem?
Thanks guys.
