Hey guys,
I figured I would ask here first, in case someone with a business is looking to hire, or you know someone that is looking to hire. I'm a teacher, so once July and August roll around, I have no income, and could really use some. I'm looking for something in the Bergen County area because my parents live here and it would make it easier to drop the kids off if I need to work on a day my wife has to work. I can work almost any day (weekday or weekend) anytime between 8AM-6PM or so. I'm hoping to find someone that needs help 2-4 days a week. Now, because I'm mechanically inclined and like to work with my hands, I'm looking for a job that'll be interesting and not an office gig. I've done plenty of projects around my own house - my father-in-law is a retired mason from Italy, so I learned a lot from him. At my own house, I've demo'd and tiled my kitchen floor and backsplash and helped my father-in-law with the bathrooms. I've changed faucets, sinks, and light fixtures. I've demo'd outside steps and rebuilt them with his help (poured footings, concrete blocks, brick, etc), and done tile work at my parents house too (entry foyer, kitchen backsplash and floor). So, if I could find work as a contractor's helper doing that sort of work, that would be awesome.

I also like working on cars, and do most of my own work, like brake jobs, tuneups, oil changes, and even rebuilt an engine (the L98 in my Monte), so I could work part time in a shop as a parts guy/oil change guy or something along those lines.

And, just because I was bored this winter, I built a computer, and it actually works, so I'd be interested in anything tech related like that. I'm a quick study and like to learn about new fields, so as long as I find a job doing something different from teaching I'd be a happy camper.

FWIW, I've got a clean D/L and wouldn't need benefits since I'm covered by my full-time employer. So, if you guys know of anything, please shoot me a PM ASAP as I'd like to line something up soon. Thanks for reading this!!!

Home Depot is right up your alley, theyre all over, pay over 10 an hour and they love hiring people with contractor/building field experience. You'll be able to help the customer without being full of 100 percent BS like your avg 17 year old counter jockey

Being a HD employee suuuucks... but if you go that route get yourself into the Tool Rental Dept... hands down that's the best position to be in the store.

Thanks for the suggestions so far guys, I'm gonna give HD a shot, and I think the AutoBone in my town was looking for help also so I'll check there. I'll keep checking the Craigslist classifieds too.

Agreed. :) The one in Hackenscratch has a better selection of parts, and so does the one down in N. Bergen.
