For going through a red light. No points, $84 in Brick. I'm pretty sure its not even a moving violation technically. Seems like a way to rape people for extra tax money for the town.

Either way has anyone dealt with one of these before? I've heard rumors theres some sort of class action going on to fight camera tickets that can put your ticket in limbo until the case is concluded if you join the lawsuit. Any truth to that?

Also the only info I could find on the ins and outs of how the law works regarding these tickets is for CA. Apparently its a huge problem there but their help site on it says that if you choose to say you werent driving that you can have the ticket dropped if theres no actual shot of you driving the vehicle.

Thoughts? Comments? Yes I know the typical thought process on this one is it isnt worth the time but we're tight on money and just moved into our first place so Im considering night court as an option here.

Did she actually run a red light, or did she just creep out into the intersection and get snagged that way?

She honestly ran it. And bad too. We watched the full video of it. My concern is they have no shot of whos driving. What the hell happens if someone says they honestly werent driving their vehicle. I've read online that if you say that your not obligated to tell them who was driving.

I agree that it is a $$ grab, but as you state she clearly ran the red. Pay the ticket and tell her to stop running reds. Look at it this way, that ticket is better than one a cop would write.

O I absolutely agree but I have waged a personal vendetta on cameras since they put them up. Honestly its a crock of ****. At least if a cop pulls someone over you can show em a PBA card but the fact that its not really even a technical moving violations from what the letter sounds like.

Yea, they give you the fine-only ticket since they can't prove who was driving. If they saddled the registered owner with points and couldn't prove they were behind the wheel, they would be up to there ears in court cases fighting the tix.

You would be correct, however you're still obligated to pay the ticket. It's your duty to find "whomever took your car" at the time and collect reimbursement from them. You think no one's actually tried that yet?

I dont doubt it but numerous CA defense sites say that if your persistent enough they move on from telling you no dice on saying it wasnt you to hounding you about who it was. Also says your not legally obligated to inform them who you lent your vehicle to.

Shes gonna pay it cause shes not good at defending herself at all when shes right let alone when shes lying but I was just curious.

the flashes from those cameras are enough to blind you at night....there is like 7 cameras at that intersection....im not even a half mile from it. say the flash from the camera blinded you
