First off I'm not asking if anyone can "give" me or "sell" me an inspection but does anyone have a good shop in mind in south jersey? I might be moving back there towards the end of the summer and will need to get both cars inspected, one of which might be...well...tricky lol
I haven't lived in NJ since '01 so I forget how it goes in your God forsaken state.

if you are going to a private shop, make sure they do 95 and older cars. with the new equipment there are several options as to what you test.

How much do they typically charge for inspections?

The place that inspected my car charged me $65. I believe they are $35 for a re-inspection. I wasn't able to make it to state inspection so I took it to the gas station next to where I work.
My car is all legal I just couldn't find the time to drive to the State inspection station.

I think mine was ~65 ish, maybe 60, been a while.
And as Adam stated above, some shops are choosing not to buy the new equipment to do pre OBDII testing, so verify that they can inspect your car.

around 50-70 bucks as stated. i believe you are only allowed to charge up to an hour of your hourly labor rate.

reinspection fees are mandated by the test time wise and you then apply that to your labor rate. if the place that did the repairs does the reinspection, they can only charge for the sticker.

Mark, to answer the actual serious part of your post before it got deleted is because of family(I want to be closer to them). PA actually sucks more than NJ(crazy to say I know), I need a change but now chances are I'm staying put...too much of a pain to move.
