Check out this nonsense.

Sometimes marketing departments need a reality check....the word "Chevy" is not hurting the brand. I'm going out on a limb here, maybe selling cars based on a 20+ year old chassis (i.e. the W-Body Impala) are what is really hurting the brand.

eh, they're trying something different. I doubt it'll make much of an impact though

Impala outsells the brand new Ford Taurus. Sure, most are fleet sales..but Impala still outsells it.
Impala is not the problem. That car is on the way out. GM's core brands are seeing sales increases

From facebook:
Hey fans! Just want to reassure everyone, we are not "killing" Chevy as is being reported in some circles. In fact, we like when people call us "Chevy!" It reflects 100 years of history and connection with the American people. We do have to remember that Chevrolet is one of the fastest-growing automotive brands globally. Going forward, we will consistently use "Chevrolet" but you can free to say "Chevy" :)

So people have a problem with Chevrolet to be called Chevrolet? Yikes. They don't care what you call it but they will call it Chevrolet. Big deal? No.
