Looks like they clear the brakes but are going to stick past the fenders... ARGH!

Why is the caliper mounted on top like that?

SamhainZ28

how far do they stick out? maybe a set of GS fender flares would take care of it.

by how much? a little poke won't hurt. some smaller tires would make it look less redneck, and if you are low, it would actually look damn good.

HAHA! Good EYE! HAHA! They arent mounted to the bracket yet! They were just balancing on the top of the caliper :D I just wanted to make sure they fit ;) HAHA!

Rears arent the issue... Its the front... Its actually kind of sexy when the rear stick out a little... But I think the fronts going to sit out about a 1/2 inch of so... I have a pic of it somewhere!

No man.... I little poke could potentialy hurt really bad! HAHA My front fenders are also my hood! costs close to 2 Gs to replace... And Im not trying to spend 2 gs on a perfectly good hood that I trashed because the wheels didnt fit. :/

Couple updates!

1st... Mounted and balanced the rims are tires! (looks sick!) BUUUUUT! The weights on the inside of the rim are JUST barely skimming the top of the front calipers.... So Im going to ask my boss to re-balance the front tires and see if he can distribute the weights a little differently...

2nd... My SS brake lines are too short for these calipers... Have to give my brake guy jeff a ring and see if we have an alternative...

thats coming out great! they make low profile sticky wheel weights or you can do a static balance where the weights only go on the inside edge, furthest from the face.

Look at the pic, theres no lip on the front of the wheel to clip weights to, so hes gonna have to go with stickies or inside mounted

static balance is when you only have the weights clipped onto the lip on the INSIDE lip of the wheel. facepalm

yes or you could static balance with stick on weights as well.

I think the inlays look cheesy like cheetos and the bowties are raised... Not pressed so painting them may be a little difficult! Plus they were expensive so I dont want to ruin them! HAHA :D

Yes, yes it was. slated for 125 to be produced, they only got 5 ( rumor says 6, but was destroyed and no solid evidence shows that it was infact made, but if it was infact made, it had some advance technology in it in it's day like pneumatic jacks on it which you see on race cars today!!) Anywho GM caught wind and promptly ended the project :( I've seen 40% of all the original grandsports made, and a wealthy owner I know owns one of the most special of them all.
here's a pic I took of it when we were at limerock.
