I have a t5 out of a 86 camaro. I just rebuilt my motor and put ram hd clutch and new pilot bearing, new flywheel, and all arp hardware. now here my problem if start the car and try to put it into gear i cant get it into gear so my buddy and i bleed the clutch but we did it wrong but i didnt know til i did research and found out how to bleed the clutch from http://www.teamrip.com/how_to_properly_bleed_a_hydraulic_clutch_info.html so me,my girlfriend, and mom went out and bleed the clutch to the directions and now it grinds when trying to put it reverse and than when i try to put it in gear it makes the motor die down. any ideas?

seems like the clutch isn't disengaging.

How many times did you crack the bleeder when you bleed it?

I really cant remember if thats a external slave or interal setup. If its external, is the slave on the fork correctly. And is the fork on the throwout right?

i bleed it about 20 times so cracked it about 21 times including pushing the slave cylinder rod in. it is external mounted. i put the throw out bearing in right the coller pointing towards the car.

called Ram Clutches and talked to there tech apartment and they said the throw out bearing isnt big enought being i got a hayes flywheel and the clutch and that i need to shim the flywheel or get adjustable throwout bearing. THan i called summit talked to there tech apartment and they said i had three choice slip the clutch for awhile ( cant do that wont go in gear), buy adjustable throwout bearing ( they said that might be a bad idea cause if i adjust it too much and can put the Bearing right thru the fingers), last choice take trans out and pull bellhousing and pull off pressure plate and put 3/8 washer between the flywheel and pressure plate.

um.. no.

If something is wrong with the geometry of your clutch and release set up it MUST be fixed properly.. If you have the wrong flywheel, get the right one, if it is the wrong clutch, get the right one, if the throw out bearing is wrong.... get the right one. If the Hydraulics are bad replace them with the right parts..

There is no grey area. Fix your car right the first time and enjoy it.
