Solar activity has a huge impact on us and so little is really unknown. That is why I dismiss all global warming nonsense. They really have so little true idea.

im not worried, its not like we have had a telescope for 10,000 years observing the skys and this is something thats never happened before, im sure its part of a cycle. Like climate change.

From the article: But for the past two years, the sunspots have mostly been missing. Their absence, the most prolonged in nearly 100 years, has taken even seasoned sun watchers by surprise. "This is solar behavior we haven't seen in living memory," says David Hathaway, a physicist at NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Ala.

Im looking at it as a big picture not to go against you but 100,few hundred or even thousands of years is still a very small time compared to the amount of time the suns been around we have only been observing these for a very small time. Earths been around for 4 billion years? sun must have been around for longer. Also not saying that maybe this is a very serious case but im sure we will all be fine.

eh im not worrying...if somethings gonna happen its not like we can do anything about it. if the sun is gonna destroy us its going to destroy us, itd be interesting to be the last humans in history to live though  everything dies....but if everything dies with us its kinda awesome. imagine being at the pearly gates chewing the fat.....
howd you die???
hit by a truck....you???
arma-freaking-geddon man!

I read another article that was predicting the most intense solar storms in 2013 due to a combination of sun activity. They think the burst of electromagnetic radiation will cause some issues with communication. We're all doomed!

I think the scary scenario is not Armegeddon, but a total collapse of the world's power grid. Having much of our electronics, that we rely on today, knocked out and unrepairable is akin to Mad Max style living. Trying to bring up a family in that environment would be far worse than simply having the last one on the planet shut off the lights on the way out.
From microwaves and cellphones to swords, flint and steel, and horses. A romantic notion now, but a truly scary one if we were to face it.
Better to just find a comfy spot to watch the shockwave hit us and end it all in seconds.

maybe in 2012 the sun is just going to throw out one mega-flair that could be assisted by Jupiter's gravity to wipe out the inner 4 planets.

does anyone think its possible that the sun-spots on on the other side of the sun and these people are just automatically spitting out the worst possible senerio short of the sun exploding
