Does anybody know if there are any public shooting ranges in NJ where you can rent guns from them for the range so you can go shooting for the day without having to bring your own guns?

Stay away from brick armory. My buddy worked there and got canned because he stumbled upon too many of their code violations and they found out.

Theyre cool guys but terrible business people and have no idea how to run the place.

Brick and Shoreshot are the two that I know of...I think Hagues in West Deptford also rents. What are you looking to rent or shoot? I belong to Ft. Dix Range 14 and if you bought ammo, I am sure I would be willing to go.

Mainly trying to stay fresh and keep working on handgun techniques. I can buy ammo, what are the prices like around there?

I dont own any handguns yet, only long guns....and as for ammo, I only buy ammo for my .22lr and 12ga locally, the rest I get from other sources.

i got to brick armory all the time. I can see what your saying because they ahve alot of guns there that im sure "they" can have but arent NJ state legal. (like ak's and m1 carbines) what kind of illigal stuff were they doing though? Not sure about shore shot but the prices at the range went up in brick armory... its like $30 for unlimited day use of the range for long guns and like $26 for pistol.... alittle pricy considering youll want to rent guns and have to buy ammo you might be looking at a $100+ day depending on how long you are there and if you dont only shoot 22lr.

It will be a haul for you since it's not in NJ, but Classic Pistol is worth a look:

I have been there a number of times. First class, IMO. You can rent anything from a .22 to a full auto MP5.

Brick armory has loads of problems both legally and financially. From letting people without firearms ID cards shoot alone to releasing guns before withholding periods are up, doing background checks for purchases of hang guns for people under 21 and then writing the paper work up that a long gun was sold instead, unmonitored ranges. I wont even divulge just how bankrupt they are. They'll be gone in 6 months unless they get another white knight investor like the last time they almost tapped out.

Like I said they are very nice people but behind closed doors they're scheming, cheap, and dirty businessmen.
