I think they're still working out the details regarding where to grow it and how to dispense it. I think the talk now is that it won't be implemented until January or July of 2011.

I thought corzine pushed it through before he left?

I'd have to look it up but he pushed it through but there were still other details to work out before it was enacted. Luckily Christie supports the idea, just working out the details.
I'm kind of paraphrasing, I haven't followed it that closely in the last few months.

corzine wrote the bill and christie says its too lax, so theyre redrafting the bill. we should see progress by the end of this year

Whats with all of the thumbs up, head nodding, and I cant waits?
You pot smokin hippies realize this doesnt affect you recreational smokers? And even if your banking on this being a step towards legalization it would still be decades off.

First off I'm not a hippie, far from it and I take offense to being called that. Second off I don't smoke weed, however I support it's legalization but at the VERY least its legalization from a medicinal standpoint. There are millions of chronically ill patients out there that need some type of relief that doesn't come in a pill form.
You sir, have just been corrected. ;):mrgreen::mrgreen::moon:

Im no doctor but I'd dont see how pot could possibly relive pain that some hillbilly heroin couldnt

Do a little research. ;)
If I lived in NJ I might qualify due to my muscular dystrophy and completely destroyed hips...still not my cup of tea per say but the weed does have some pain relieving qualities.

I think it should be legalized, and Ive never smoked a joint in my life.
I dont think legalizing will open teh flood gates for people to start smoking. I dont smoke pot because its illegal, I just dont want to smoke. Cigs, cigars, bowls, its just not my cup of tea.
Legalize it, tax it, create jobs and all that great stuff.

You are not going to throw down oxycontin for glaucoma or something like that. In my opinion oxycontin is much worse for you then MJ.

x100000000000000000 oxycontin is horribly addictive, it changes you for the worse, and completely takes over your life

im a pro marijuana advocate, thats never been any secret. if you want to read about what marijuana can do for you, read The Emperor Wears No Clothes by Jack Herrer. then you'll understand
as for medicinal marijuana, it relieves pain without destroying your body allowing your body to heal without any major side effects. Happy, Sleepy, Hungry are the type of side effects i can deal with, not dark stool, stomach pains and suicidal thoughts/dreams

That's why I won't use the stuff, I could easily get a script for some major meds...eh....no thanks....A) Most of that stuff is highly addictive and B) that stuff tears your body up. I'd rather just deal with the pain. Waaaaay too many people have gone in for surgery and in a few months have become pill addicts....kind of scary.

x100000000000000000 oxycontin is horribly addictive, it changes you for the worse, and completely takes over your life
and if you take it long enough and in high enough doses (10+ years, almost 500mgs per day at the end) you might actually develop an allergy to it. basically MBPKs (morphine based pain killers) are out for me and if i can find some relief with medical mj, then i'm headed in that direction.
looks like october will bring any addendum/change and it could be january for registration. the way it sits now, it is the most restrictive law in the continental US. and some are saying it's still too loose.
