The previews look good. Looks very similar to how the original looked. Of course, there probably won't be good one liners like "Stick around" and it won't have Ah-nold in it. But it still looks like what we (kids in the 80s) grew up with in terms of flat out action. Looking forward to the Alien prequels directed by Ridley Scott as well. Both franchises are great separately, but together they aren't worth a damn.
The Expendables looks good too. Seeing all of those action stars on screen together will be great. I'd like to see how many one liners are said in that movie.
Too bad the new Tron movie won't be coming out til the end of this year. That looks good as well.
Iron Man 2 was decent at best, didn't get to see Shrek 4, Toy Story 3 was pretty good, the A-team was a all around good movie, and Grown Ups was typical Sandler humor.
That Will Ferrell and Mark Whalberg cop movie coming out looks somewhat entertaining.

And he's going alone. Just as soon as he's able to drive. Which the doc said he could start trying this week.
This was an hidden warning to stay off the roads....;)

After the last AVP movie I am def not going to see this. That last one was one of the worst movies I have every seen.

I agree with you the AVP movies were utter cr@p. But both franchises as is are both great. I'd give the benefit of the doubt to this movie. I don't think it'll be anything like either AVP movie. The AVP movies made each creature lose its mystique and nature. The Aliens were just fierce animals and predators were de-mystified by being on screen way too much.

A dozen badasses with guns are dropped onto a distant world to fight for their lives against monsters set out to kill them off one at a time. One lone survivor is found on that distant planet who helps them stay alive long enough to tell the tale later.
Which movie am I describing? Aliens or this new Predator movie?
Couldn't tell? Thought so. Not going to see it. I'll wait till the disk comes out so I can borrow it from the library.

I think it looks goods. I happen to be a fan of both Predator and AVP. Alien I was never huge on but I did like.
I was a big AVP video game fan when I was younger so the movies were cool for me. I like the general Predator/Human "alliance" if you will in the second AVP because it was always like that in the old video games.

the aliens are primative beasts that show no mercy. the predators are respectful and intelligent and enjoy a good challenge from their ''game.''

You know how they have the red dot for Kyleigh's law for new drivers? I think he needs a big red arrow over his car to warn others of his whereabouts (like in videogames). And I don't mean to warn others of his driving

I will definately see Predators...finally! a director who respects the franchise! Robert Rodriguez will without a doubt do the Predator franchise justice. El Mariachi, Desperado, From Dusk Till Dawn, Planet Terror...all excellent in my book.
and how can you all even compare this film to the kiddie-friendly AVP? that was like a sandbox version with both franchise characters in the middle of it..
and on the topic of AVP Requiem, it was lightyears ahead of the first AVP, at least it was rated R and held true to the carnage that both creatures inflict.
I'll be in the theatre opening weekend to support.
