Cops are nice but inspection guy streight up dick, cited me for illegal aftermarket exhaust, too small cats that do not pass inspection, having check engine light on, too big rear tires, hidden plate. He said he can tow my car immediTely for the cats, which are 50 state magnaflow. Also for dripping fluids Which is condensation from my ac but he didn't care.

I have to check on them when i get home. Guy said any aftermarket exhaust is illegal in NJ and you will be cited for it, as well as any tires larger than factory they can remove your sticker and fail you and he said he can give me a ticket for ba inspection. I was very polite to him but he was very hostile from the start.

when i went through inspection i had to get paper work off slp's website calling the loud mouth 2 resonator a muffler. so i think that guy might have been blowing smoke. if it was illegal period why would they have sent me to get the paper work? i would fight it

yea you would think more traction and a wider surface area would be safer but then again inspection doesnt care about saftey

see i have magnaflow catback, perfectly legal. he said any after market exhaust is illegal and he technically can tow my car due to emmissions violations. i know my plate being behind my bullet grill might give me issues, and i have no problem if i got in trouble only for that, but to give me all kinds of **** for my car, which passed state inspection at deptford inspection station a few weeks ago. is this state really gotten this bad? I'm about to transfer down to FL again. hah.

tried it. he looked at the reg and it's from May. he said i'm not stupid. he also saw the cutout ,even though manual, said that's enough to impound a car. I even handed over my NJSP Family Card, and he gave it back saying he doesn't accept anything like that, in a very disrespectful tone.

I know in Virginia its illegal to mod your car at all. They can give you a ticket for an aftermarket air filter. Thats Virginia however. Dont know what its like in NJ since my car is out of state registerd.

hah I agree. Now i've been very polite to him and the officers, whom were very professional and friendly. I do not see why he needed to give me an attitude even before i spoke a single word, then proceeded to do this. I just passed nj state inspection three weeks ago, legitly, even with the 315s and exact setup as i drive every day.
