as some of you may know my civic blew up about a month ago...and was looking at wranglers or f-bodies. got a pretty sweet deal on this camaro.

before i give you all the specs please leave your "you're missing 2 cylinder" comments at the door lol, i know what it is and what i could have had but it is just not practical for me right now.

2002, 35th anniversary, 3.8 motor, auto trans, 63,000 miles, black interior, leather, and is in overall close to mint condition

right now no plans to do any modifications, maybe some minor cosmetics, i need to install my head unit from my civic and get new speakers the stock stuff blows.

but tell me what you think. im pretty happy with the move from honda to a chevy, the 3.8 pulls a lot harder than i thought also.

Looks nice. I was surprised last time I drove a 3.8 F body, pretty quick for a v6.

Keep the outside stock, except get some rims.....preferably black ZR1's lol.

Our exhaust is restrictive, and find out what gears are in it. a good tune and 3.42's and it'll haul even more ass.

LOL, looks really straight. A good exhaust like a Magnaflow with some nice tips will give it a nice rumble/ some better performance and looks. Also a CAI system will add some ponies too!

No, it wont fit without major reconstruction of the blower. I think one or two guys actually tackled making it work, and they are still sorting the bugs out. It looks awesome in their cars, but in the end, after all the fabbing, and custom tuning, they could of bought a couple aftermarket blowers to fit and go. Our heads also are restrictive, but our blocks are very strong due to the amount of nickle added, and are very nitros friendly ;)

And on top of that, the regular V6 has a higher compression ratio so you'd have to run a 4" pulley or so. Not worth it.

Very nice for a daily driver. It'll be fun to drive, relatively economical with a V6, and will have the power to survive NJ commuting.

I would suggest no modifications except your head unit swap. This is a daily driver, not a show or go car. Don't spend a lot of money on it, just enjoy it for what it is and save the money for other things. It's a black car so will need cleaning regularly.

some nice wheels, tint and exhaust and that will be one hell of a daily driver.

Keep an eye out on your coolant, notorious for intake gaskets. Seen a few head gaskets to but more so on the 3.4s. Over all simple to do any work on yuorself as long as it does not include taking that intake mani off lol.

I have a 98 3.8l has a blown bottom end because someone didnt take care of a intake gasket leak and by the time they got around to the intake gasket...the bearings in the bottom end were finished because of the coolant/oil mix.

Keep on eye on that and that thing will run for eva.

Yours is super clean too I really like it. Once you get an exhaust wheels tint and lower it itll be super pimp dude!!

thanks for all the compliments guys. i really do love driving it.

the intake leaks, if they are leaking...you just replace the gaskets right?

ill look into exhausts and stuff after the current one rusts through, im on a tight budget as of now im just looking to get the basics taken care of like stereo and a few minor cosmetic things

MyFirstZ

yeah you would replace the gaskets. And do an oil change right after since it can still be mixed in the oil.

If it was my car depending on how the coolant was looking if it was a little chunky i would go as far as replacing the pump, thermo stat and radiator. But that is just me, and making sure the heater core had a extensive flushing.

You can replace the intake gaskets, but they are plastic, and they distort over time, allowing them to leak. i heard GM has Aluminum ones out, and Felpro makes them as well, but I cant find the part# for them. If you decide to change, go with them, and you won't have to worry about them again.
