Well, I thought I was going to wait until this winter but I just couldnt stand seeing the car look so crappy. It took longer than I expected because I painted it at night and wasnt thinking of bugs!(What can I say, it was the first time I painted a car!) They landed all over the wet paint so I had to sand the whole car again. After that disaster, I was lucky enough to use a friends paint booth and do it right. Enough talk, here are some pics.

Thanks guys. I painted the lip on the wheels, I have blue paint for the middle(black part) but just ran out of time this weekend.

Great job! But I think you should get the original Trans Am and Firebird decals to make it look complete.

Looks awesome! I told Mo yesterday...what do you think of maybe painting the blue stripes or accents to match the blue centers you're doing?

Thanks everyone.

I like stock looking vehicles myself but my wife already picked out what she wants(this is technically her car!) Also, I dont plan on keeping it stock forever.

She really wants the bird on the hood. I'll show her some other styles but she loves the look of the bird.

It was only a single stage, due to money being tight. I just couldn't stand seeing it look the way it did, this should last until I can afford to do it right.

If you can, convince the wifey to leave the wheels the way that they are. The car looks great with them. :)

Very nice results! Do you happen to know the where about of Matt (quasar34) who owned that before you? He has some 3rd Gen parts for sale and I have not been able to reach him by his cell phone or PM.

For a spur of the moment paint job it looks great. I wish I could do that with my turdgen. Love the look of the Z28 spoiler and white wheel trim.

(All that work, but why oh why didnt you pull the taillights, markers and headlight trim?..sorry I had to do it)

To be honest with you I am anal about everything when it comes to cars. I grew up watching my father fix cars and now I have trouble appreciating any kind of car without picking out the flaws in it. That being said, I did it the way I did because I would have just kept going. If I started to take things off I wouldnt have been able to stop and it would have turned into a restoration. To be honest there are a few small flaws in the paint itself(aside from the fact that I didnt do any body work at all) and I cant wait until this weekend to work on them. Not that I should even bother with it because it looks good for what it is but I cant help it.

Ah, I understand. That is one of the main reasons I havent really started the body work on my car, because I know as soon as I do it will be in a thousand pieces.

I'd say it looks fantastic for a weekend paintjob. Nice work. 8-)
