I'm looking to go procharger. Anyone running boost on a higher mileage motor? I have 115,000 on the motor. Looking for some opinions. Thanks

LT1 stock hypereutectic pistons don't have a good reputation for standing up to forced induction.

my opinion is that you should at least throw some rods and pistons in it before you boost it

As already stated, at least upgrade the pistons/rods if you want to boost the car. IMO it may be better to throw a smallish shot of n2o on the car and will be way cheaper if you don't spray often.

If the engine is in good shape you should be fine IF you keep the boost low, No more then 4-5Lbs without an intercooler, no more then 6-8 Lbs with a good intercooler. Just remember the SCs do put allot of stress on parts to make that extra power and does shorten the life of an engine over time.

Most kits come with an FMU, it raises the fuel pressure under boost to add fuel. They aren't the best way to go for more then 5 lbs of boost. It's better to use larger injectors, and either way you should really get the car tuned for boost. Don't beilive the FMU is enough to cover the tune, you really want to pull timing when you add boost.

You will also want to make sure your PCV system in on good working order. If you are really going to do this I will put together a list of things you also want to do. It's not big dollars, but allot of check valves and alternative vacuum routing and such that are good to have.
