Video of it running when I get a new starter, I had the distributor 90* off and it kinda went backwards and demolished my starter.

i got another block from jarhead. He botched something in the machine work though, and i have some kind of issue in the block. I'm going to try an electric fuel pump to see if it was the fuel pump arm. every thing on it is new so I don't know what the hell is knocking.

On a serious and compassionate note, hopefully it's something stupid.

its coming from the area of the fuel pump, so hopefully I just forgot to tighten something. I'm going to try a different balancer, and I'm going to pull the front off again and see if its in the timing set. if that's not it my dad just got a Snap-On camera with an LED that I can stick inside to look at the crank

just food for thought, you said its a mechanical pump. did you put a spot of grease to prevent that little pin from sliding around when you put it on? IMO, I would just step up to a Holley inline fuel pump and run it at 7-9 PSI.
