Hello everyone,

I haven't been on here in a long time and I am getting the itch to finish my 80 Firebird Formula frame off (ok subframe off) project that has been in the works for the last 10 years. Other projects side tracked me along the way and now I am refocusing.

I was on Hotchkis's website the other day and I noticed their TVS suspension system for my car. I already rebuilt the front suspension but I can just swap out the stock springs and the sway bars no big deal. My rear suspension is still in need of replacement.

Has any one here used this set up and how is it? I want to know if its worth the purchase and if there is that much of a difference over stock. Your input is greatly appreciated. I'd love to put the tubular control arms on as well but the budget is not there for that yet. Plus that is something I can add down the road.

Let me know your thoughts. $1,400 is a good chunk of change for essentially front and springs plus sway bars and hardware. This would be the right time to install this as I still have to rebuild the posi disc rear plus run new fuel and brake lines plus a new tank. Just makes sense to do it now.

I'm using it on my 1st gen and I really like it. It lowered my car 2 inches in the front and to 4 inches in the rear (last owner had air shocks) and gives it a frim ride and it made a huge improvement in handeling.

I have it in my 77 and it is pretty good. My rear springs are a bit low, but there may be other factors involved, such as I did a herb adams spring perch mod. The front bar was a tight fight around the idler arm but I managed there as well.

Dave at PTFB is another option to consider.

Def support PTFB stuff. Quality gear, pick up a set of the subframe bushings from them!
