ok so i dropped my blackberry in the toilet on halloween and ended up buying an iphone 3g off my buddy who upgraded to the iphone 4 and i just want to say I WOULD NEVER GO BACK TO BLACKBERRY.
i can do everything on this phone and its only the 3g. I count down the days till i upgrade to iphone 4 also, not so thrilled with the droid os but i havent had a lot of hands on with it. and WM7 doesnt seem to be too much of a competitor either.
what do you guys have?/want? and like?/dislike?

I can tell you that the Blackberry storm is a hopeless piece of ****. And I have a pile of them on my desk to prove it.

i have an android phone and I really like all the apps. My friend just got a WM7 phone and so far it looks pretty good. Still too new to make a real opinion on it.

Droid X here on Verizon. I love the phone and I have had the chance to mess around with the iPhone 4 and they're pretty comparable. Main advantages of the droid that I see over the iPhone is that its not proprietary software, meaning anyone can develop apps which give it a wide variety. Also you do not have to sync the phone with anything. I have heard some hooror stories of the lengthy updates and itunes erasing the data on the iphone. I havent used a win7 phone yet so I couldnt say anything about that. and Blackberrys are pure crap as said before. They used to be useful because of theyre exchange email service but since android OS does it they are slowly being replaced.

well i mean you could always jailbreak your iphone to get those free apps from an open source ... i even read that they have an app where you can run your iphone on Droid's operatiing system haha
and yeah i get my emails just the same on my iphone... soo blackberry fail.

One other thing. If you break your Iphone your pretty much boned. You can have insurance on android hones lol. 6 bucks a month with a 50 dollar deductible, but it could potentially save you a couple hundred if you were to lets say,..........drop it in a toilet

verizon told me different. They do not replace the phones at the store anymore so you have to call the ins company and it would take one business day to get the phone. thats after the $98 deductible. Now i dont know if thats contract based or not because my contract ended in aug.
You are right about the iphone tho and no ins. im still looking into getting one. IMO i like the OS the best. mom has a storm 2 and its a POS, my friends have the curve its ok minimal troubles. I have used the android its not bad, would have been my choice if there was no iphone.

If my life wasn't littered in iPhone accessories, I would switch to verizon and get a droid.

AKA My phone is outdated so I think every phone by this company sucks (No, I'm not defending the Storm but I love my Bold)

Huge point if thats true... i heard you can insure your iphone thru apple for something lik 97 dollars a year.. but it doesnt cover water damage or cracked screens -_- sooooo thats iffy... but i also hear that you have a year to buy it if you save your receipt soooo if something were to happen to it aside from water damage or a cracked screen you can go pay the 97 and have it fixed.. but dont quote me on that price or the one year thing... not exactly sure

this seems more like what i heard with the iphone

why? i think it may be just as good as iphone maybe better but since i just got with iOS i may be biast.

im pretty sure the bold was the same thing as the curve only it runs on 3g. I never had mechanical problems with any of my blackberries and infact i used to love it too... partically because i got so locked into haveing a physical keyboard. (something that some droid phones have too right?) but anyway once i saw the internet, apps, screen quality, and fact that i could stream netflix.. iSOLD. lol not to mention it doubles as an ipod and syncs with itunes (to me thats a plus)

i have no interest in a 'smart' phone.... my pos calls and texts just fine, and i sit at a computer for work all day... id get a blackberry... but an additional like 35 bucks a month so i can bbm and go on facebook MORE often isnt really needed

i find it pretty convenient to be able to google search anything on the go wherever you are.. mapquest if you need to.. show someone something on youtube or google images to get your point across lol not to mention get your emails for work or (school for me) view/ update/ pay my bills or have my online banking available wherever i am.. skype to make calls for free with other people who have it.. just to name a few.. but i guess "the things you own end up owning you"

Way I look at it is Droid and Apple are the only choices. BB 6.0 is not nearly the step it needed to be to fight off the onslaught, and WinMo7 will be slow and laggy.
I love my X. Coming from the Storm, its like picking up a piece of alien technology. The apps are endless, most are free, with customization to make your phone your own.
I will say that Apple has executed the design very well, compared to the rubberized Droid X, but samsung has some really sharp android phones.

i have the HTC G2 and i love it. it has the android os and i have no complaints. especially with t-mobile if anything happens i just walk into the store and they hand me a new one no questions asked i love it and my bill is half the price of verizon and at&t. so android all the way

I have the HTC Eris. I love it. Only problem I have had is they didnt do an Android 2.2 update for them. So I just installed a custom 2.2 ROM. I like how you can customize the phone as you see fit and all of the apps. Im addicted to some of the games.

I heard that Best Buy offers an insurance plan for the iPhone. Is that true?
4:36 PM jon a:
iPhone 4 specifically
4:37 PM Lisa:
Our black tie protection warranty plan is available for the Iphone for $14.99 monthly.
4:37 PM jon a:
what does that cover/not cover?
4:39 PM Lisa:
It covers normal wear and tear, battery replacement, power surge repair, accidental damage from handling, no lemon policy, good maintenance reward. Does not cover lost or stolen replacement or water damage.
4:40 PM jon a:
Would a cracked screen fall under "accidental damage from handling" ?
4:40 PM Lisa:

Problem with the iPhone is AT&T. I will never, ever, ever switch unless AT&T fixes their stuff.

People can say what they want, but with Verizon getting the iPad, it's only a matter of time before they have the iPhone too. Of course, the way things are going I bet they will only see a small spike in sales around the release. There isn't much iOS can do that Android can't, and Android has different phones to fit different personal tastes.
