We have the chance to get this track for a weekend in April. I need to know how many people would be willing to commit to coming. Probably a one day, Saturday deal. Road course and Autocrossing. I am guessing $175-$200 entry fee. Possibly carting on Friday for those that wanted to play and spend a little extra.
Now is the time to post up and step up if you are serious about wanting to play close to home. As you all know, If I say we are serious about an event, I do my part to make it happen. We are serious, have sponsor commitments and they will be watching this thread. Other sponsors are certainly welcomed and that would determine the final price for participants to play.
Post up, let me hear your thoughts. I don't have a large window of time here, so, are you IN or OUT?
Would anyone be seriously interested in this? No tire kickers please.
This is not a club event or related to the club in any way.

Guys,
I have waited so post anything until we had all the details worked out and contracts signed. It looks like this will happen now, April 1-3. Cruise on Friday, Track time on Saturday and possible carting at the track for those interested on Sunday before heading home.
I will keep everyone in the loop and when registration is opening, probably a link to protouring. There has been plenty of interest over there about it. We will limit the first year to the first 60 registrants so be ready to sign up when registration goes up. These events usually sell out within 2 or 3 days.
I feel the location is great for a lot of North East guys and will be fun times and the chance to really flog your car.
Thanks Scott, stay tuned!
Update. Friday cruise will likely head towards the beach/Cape May.

Registration is open
OK Guys, Everything is set, registration is officially open. All years, cars are welcomed, though we prefer American rear wheel drive.
Remember, this is a no refund event, we will run rain or shine. If you buy a spot and then can not make it, it is up to you to sell your spot. I simply don't have the time to be the broker. As all my events go, selling a spot has never been a problem, we always have a waiting list. This event is open to the first 60 PAID spots. You must go to my paypal, and pay or pm me for my address if you prefer sending check or money order. Your spot is not reserved until payment.
Thanks guys, this will be a huge event and we are looking forward to it, see everyone there.

Indeed I did.
Anyone know of or have any E30 BMW rims or race take offs? T/A wont be done in time so I'm taking the shop 'beater'. Something I tinker with from time to time.

Got the, "Thank you for registering" email but was a bit concerned that it also included a reminder about payment and a secured reservation. I paid via a secured credit card, so I can prove payment if necessary. Not sure why they didn't send a acknowledgement of receipt of payment or a reservation number. This is a common practice with several of the groups that I've run with in the past. If anyone gets a reservation confirmation, please post the details. Thanks.

Your TA wheels should work depending on the motor in the car. I believe the 4 bangers were 4 lug and the 6s were 5. The 5 lugs are 5x120 which is close enough if you center them. To center them, it is best to wrap the hub with electrical tape so that the hub fits snuggly. Actually, come to think of it, I'm not sure if the hub will clear the BMW hub, as I know they are larger, but it is worth a try.
I love e30s. I want a e30 dedicated track car so bad.

This will probably become a rack car in time. it is an 1987 325is. Feels so light and nimble compared to the T/A's (78 & 74). I have noticed, BMW parts make F - body parts look like pocket change. Cam was over 400!! 250 gets me cam and lifters for the old ponchos.
currently has 4 lug rims. If it was 5 lug, I would throw a set of snowflakes or enkie crosslace rims I have laying around. That hub thing has me thinking. I believe the German hubs are larger than the US hubs, thus why I US rims my not be able to fit. I'll ask around some local shops.

Damn, wish I could go.
I used to work there a few years back, then moved to CNJ.
I miss those tracks already! haha.

Are you guys running with instructors for new drivers? I see Lighting mentioned so I assume its the smaller track you will be on. Not too many sections to remember for the 1st timer which is nice.

I haven't been able to locate the website with the event information. I have been doing HPDE events for nearly 11 years, so I don't know what the event organizers will require as far as a track resume or grouping for instruction. Drove the lightning course for a TT event with EMRA. It's an interesting layout. Not difficult as such, but there are one or two segments that requirea good bit of precision in terms of entry and exit placement and judicious throttle control. The one long straight is just a bit too long for my 4th gear and 3.42 rear ratio. I run out of revs too late to upshift, too early for the braking point. There's some decent in-car video of the track on YouTube.
I was curious if they were looking to recruit. I've instructed there once before with the NY Viper club; kinda small for big horse power as you mentioned but still a fun track. For that matter most any track experience is always fun!
I haven't searched around this forum much, but I'm glad to see it on NJFBOA. I raced with EMRA a few times and currently PCA and NASA. Spec and GT class depending on what car I had at the time. Took last year off and I'm itching to get back.

Know what you mean, I only got out for one event last season. Health issues had me down for much of the driving season and little time was left after getting the car prepped for the track (my car is still street legal and needs to be set-up for each event). Looking foward to cleaning off the cobwebs.
Not sure how the event organizers will handle the instructional situation, but I'd be somewhat surprised if they didn't have their instructor roster finalized well in advance of the event. However, I'm not familiar with the group so I am only going on what I've experienced elsewhere. Guess you could try to contact them and ask them about instructing.
Looking forward to seeing you at NJMP. My car is the Black '02 Z-28 pictured in my signature (no, but I wish the Trans -AM Camaro in the pic was my ride).

Non-issue. From 2 days ago.
I received this today from the track,
Dear Track Day Provider,
New Jersey Motorsports Park (NJMP) announced a reorganization plan that includes the restructuring of debt, addition of new equity, and the filing of Chapter 11 today, in a move that management feels confident will secure the Park’s future operations. We wish to emphasize that these changes will have no effect on 2011 scheduled events or other social events booked at NJMP. All current and future track rental deposits are secure and will be credited to your account. Payment for all scheduled track rentals is expected per your Facility Rental Agreements. We look forward to an exciting 2011 season and continuing our relationship with you.
So, if you hear rumors, don't worry, our date is set and is fine. Like alot of places, Chapter 11 is a reality these days, but it will not effect us. I just wanted to post this up so you know the truth from the horse's mouth, we are fine.
