Just had my headliner and rear speaker covers redone at **Non-Sponsor Info Removed**. They have been around since 1927 and really did a QUALITY job. They do all the repair work for Gold Coast Cadillac in Oakhurst. I had the speaker covers done to match the top material and it looks great. They also did the seat bottom of my drivers seat since it was starting to flatten out and the left side bolster was starting to hit the metal frame rail inside. When they took it apart, he built up the cushion on both sides and also added padding to the center seat section so that bolster under your knees had more padding. I asked them to match the passenger seat design and now the seat feels much more comfortable and firm. These seats are really shallow when it comes to the padding that the factory used and it might be a good idea to check and see if the area near the rear of the side bolsters are down to the metal, because it can cause wear that will tear thru the material with time. **Non-Sponsor Info Removed**

The big deal is that we have paying sponsors that support this site. Without them we have no site. We must respect them and not endorse other businesses. That is the big deal. :)

If he was saying he got new shoes at footlocker and gave that info, I would say that is fine, unless one of our sponsors begins selling shoes.

Now back to Ed's new interior...

I prefer DSW over Footlocker cheaper and more selection

Ed good luck with the 3rd gen interior they do not age well even the well preserved ones like yours. For the headliner on my 91 I just ripped the whole headliner down and I know the metal will never sag like that foam I had in my hair before.

That's a good point, and I don't know. Maybe an admin will step in and clarify.

There's no way someone actually removed the name of the shop did they? It's one thing to advertise for a company but another if you're simply stating who did your work.

I did Paul. It was a blatant advertisement, much more than simply the name of the shop was removed.

Here is the deal, and it has been explained before but maybe not in one post.

If someone starts a thread like "where can I get X done" it is fine for people to list a place and mention their experience. This is not LS1Tech where doing even that will get you modded and/or banned.

It is not OK for someone to post about their own place or for someone to constantly hit the board with repeated recommendations for 'their friends place'. Business owners can pony up like our sponsors. Then they get to post about their shop, get mentioned in news letters, have banners & ads posted, etc. For anyone who is actually making money off our users we take the fairly simple stand - you have to pay to play. The upgraded server we just sprung for does not pay for itself.

It is not OK for someone to post spam, regardless of the content of said spam. It's one thing to post up a thread like "I just re-did my interior, look at these pics. I got my headliner and speaker grills were recovered by PlaceX in Sometown and they came out great." Simple, subtle, move along. Here there was nothing even interesting, not even some pics to back up the claims. It reads as pure in your face spam, in the damn lounge no less. IMO a giant **** you to the board. If this was the OP's first post he'd be perma-banned as a spammer and no one would blink.

It is not OK for someone to use PM to try to get around the rules to undercut our sponsors. We've had a number of users try that and in every case we caught them because eventually they hit a member who gets it and tells us.

So for us, it is a bit about context, a bit about personal interests, a bit about the degree, a bit about subtlety. We have to balance both member needs and what it takes to keep the lights on. There has been a bit of a learning curve on this in the past but that has been the line for a while now. Although this may be the 1st time it has been spelled out at once.
